Probably been asked and answered, but does Elmwood have a website, and do they list the burials on it? Along the same lines, I am the historian for the Normal Station Neighborhood Association (area bounded by Southern, Goodlett, Park and Highland Avenues). We have a small abandoned cemetery within our neighborhood, and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas where to look for burial records from the 1800s for this cemetery. It is known with some certainty that there are slave burials in the back of the cemetery, and I have been told there was a church on the property in the 19th century, but have not been able to track that lead down at all. The cemetery is known as the Eckles-Madison family cemetery, and is located on Carnes between Echles and Goodman. Any suggestions? Laura Wilson-Perry Memphis, TN
