I am seeking information regarding a Herman J Billings who was a resident of the Memphis area up until about 1980. He was born about 1906 according to the age given on his marriage record to Katherine D Watson, on file in Memphis, dated 1928. A very nice lady checked the Memphis City Directories and found that Herman is listed as a foreman with the E L Bruce Lumber Co of Memphis. Can anyone give any info on the lumber co? Having found no phone listing for the lumber co, I would ask if someone might know what happened to the company and its records. I am presently waiting for a death certificate for a Herman Billings who died in Memphis in 1980, but I am not sure this is going to be the person I am hunting. Any info, no matter how small will be appreciated. Thanks in advance, JN
