    3. Dear Sandi, I would appreciate a look up in your marriage book. My ggrandfather, John Howell Davis, his wife, Sarah A. , and two daughters, Emma and Ann, are listed in the Shelby Co., TN 1860 census. Emma, the oldest child, is age 8 yrs. - so she was born abt 1852 in Tennessee. Would you check to see if John and Sarah's marriage is listed in your book? John was born in KY, then moved to IN before coming to Shelby Co., TN. Sarah was born in NY - I have no idea what her maiden name was. She did live until 1892 and is buried in Elmwood Cem. Still I don't know a surname for her parents, or how she came from NY to TN. Thanks for offering to do look ups. Best wishes, Cora McDonnell Sandi wrote: > I'm researching Minton, Dryden, Smith and Thorne in Shelby Co. > > By the way, I have one book that I will do look ups in if anyone needs it. > It is: "Marriages of Shelby County, Tennessee 1820-1858."
