I found a reference to the Lucy Brinkley Hospital in a book called "Paul R. Coppock's Mid-South-Vol.IV" edited by Helen M. Coppock and Charles W. Crawford. R. C. Brinkley named the Hospital for his dead wife, Lucy. It was a hospital for women and was started about 1890. At first it was on Washington between Third and Fourth Streets. It was in a residence. After Mr. Brinkley's death a new facitlity was built at Union and Dunlap. This became Methodist Hospital in 1918. Hope this answers your question. Betty Stark
