Helen, You are absolutely right about the reply all button. One of these days I'll learn how to operate this machine! Of course, a very poor memory doesn't help! Thanks for reminding me of that key! Sorry to waste everyone's time being dense. Nancy J.
Hi List, I will put my two cents worth in. I was really surprised that the list was so slow. Maybe everyone is like me and just reads the list. I checked out the newspaper site that was listed and just had to respond to the lady. seemed like she was getting discouraged. I didn't know about and it is really a great site. My husband has relatives here in this area but mine are all in Texas. I sure would like some help on my Ruby line in Al, TN and MS. I know the library is always busy but I bet a lot of it is people from out of town. I know of some that are. We in North, MS, don't have one near except in Memphis. Maybe we can get this list moving if we all get involved. Wanda in Hernando PS I also didn't know what the reply to all button was!

Helen, I think one of the problems with this list is that the replies don't go automatically back to the list for everyone to see. Could the listowner set it up so all the replies go to the list? Nancy
One of the best maillists is the one for Sumner County. They are constantly updating. They have just transcribed a number of loose records of court cases which have numerous names in them. They have excerpts from books about Sumner County, and many, many other files. Check it out. Maybe we could get some volunteers going on transcribing the same kinds of info. for Shelby. Ann in NM
Su, I'll help. The book was called "Arlington" and Rachel was married twice, first to Billy Jo Kennon and then to Walter Burrow. I think she was a Burrow when she wrote the book. Also I have heard that she died. Hope you are well. Thanks so much for all the work people contribute to The List;maybe someday I`ll run across the death notice of my grt aunt who is buried in Memphis. someone said in Glenwood? big city cemetery? but I`m not sure. She had one dau. Lula CUMMINS who sang on stage in N. Y. early 1900`s. Any info. appreciated. Sue in Al.
Susan - My gggrandmother is buried in Arlington, but I don't know where. I've tramped through one of the cemeteries there, but the headstone inscriptions were mostly worn off. Are the 3 books you were referring to the shelby co. cemeteries books? The Mphs/SHco library didn't have her name - Margaret A.C.E. Branch, except in a newpaper obit. I'd really like to find out her maiden name. Where is the Arlington library located? Does it have a genealogy section? Nancy Jones - Memphis
