I am interested in finding out when a particular person sold a piece of property in Shelby Tn some time after 1989. I would like to be able to find out what address the seller gave gave as his/her new address. I am wondering who/where I might write for this information. Thanks in advance.
Hello, I am interested in obtaining obituaries which may appeared in one of the Memphis newspapers. The obits are for Bird W Billings who died Oct 13, 1959 and Ella T Billings who died Nov 27, 1955. I contacted the Memphis Library and asked the fee for the obits and was informed they would run about 30 dollars because I am out of state. If someone is going to be hunting obits and would check for these for me I would be greatly appreciative. I will be glad to recipricate(spelling?) with some research of Alabama records. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have visited Chambers Chapel Cemetery on Chambers Chapel Road and have taken digital pictures of the entire cemetery. A while back I told someone that I would send them a copy of a couple of the pictures but my computer crashed again and I lost the persons email. I am now waiting on my husband to place these digital photos on my computer. I am planning on placing this cemetery on the Shelby County website in the near future. If anyone wants me to email them copies of specific tombstones please email me and let me know. Hello to the list, Some time ago I asked for some info regarding the Billings who were buried in the Chambers Chapel Cemetery in Eads Tn. In addition to information, a nice person said they might be visiting the cemetery soon and might be able to make some digital pix of the graves for me. I am hoping that this person might have made the photos and then not remembered who they were for and might still have them. Thank you.

Hi, is there anyone who can do a census lookup 1870/80 for Richard / Dick Hodge...Thanks Ray
This obit appeared in my local newspaper (Contra Costa Times, Northern California) several weeks ago. I am not researching this name, just saw the mention of Memphis so thought I'd send it. Una Rutherford, a homemaker for 62 years, died at the Guardian of Ygnacio in Walnut Creek CA. She was 86. The native of Memphis Tennessee lived in San Diego for 25 years before moving to Pleasant Hill two years ago. Survivors: Husband of 62 years, Charles T.: daughter, Linda Manzeck of Concord; and two grandchildren. Services: Private. Arrangements by Hull's Walnut Creek Chapel.
Hi - I just now subscribed to the Shelby list. I am researching the name Bixler. My mother died in 1966, but up until that time she corresponded with an EVERTON BIXLER that lived on Arlington Ave. in Memphis, TN. I am trying to find out exactly how this Bixler fits in with the rest of my Bixler family. There were Bixlers in Dyer Co. and Obion Co., TN, also. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Arah Wright wrightkg@aol.com

You are correct... Memphis Funeral Home has a Poplar Avenue Chapel- out across from Memorial Park Cemetery. They also have Germantown Parkway and Stage Road Chapels. I checked the business listings, and it does appear they are affiliated with the old Union Chapel. All Chapel address' (including the now non-existent Union Ave) have/had the same phone number. It is (901) 725-0100. Thank you for advising us that the location on Poplar Ave. was Memphis Funeral Home. I think I indicated to Bob Parker, that the Funeral Home across from Memorial Park Cemetery may have some how been connected to Memphis Funeral Home- but I was not sure of the name. Again, Thanks for your help. linda ---------- From: HRow715346@aol.com To: TNSHELBY-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: Marriage/Funeral Home Info Date: Thursday, July 13, 2000 5:23 PM I know one......the Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar is still in operation.
