My grandmother was born in Emerts Cover, TN in 1898. Her maternal grandfather was John Evans and her dad was Wm. McGee from NC. Does anyone know of how the Evans are connected to Emerts Cove? I've heard the Evans are related to a prominent family that had lived in the area since the REV WAR times but can find no documentation. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
