V.B. NELSON FOX B: 31 Aug 1827 Sevier County M: Barbara Ann Shrader 2 Dec 1851 D: 16 Dec 1892 Sevier County Nelson was the oldest son of Rebecca Dickey and William Fox. His farm was located on what is now known as McMahan Road, about two miles from Sevierville. The house is still standing. Nelson's wife, Barbara, was the daughter of Joseph and Nancy Shrader. Nelson and Barbara are buried in a private cemetery on McMahan Road. They had nine children. a. Margaret Fox, born 4 Sep 1852. She died before her eighth birthday on 10 Sep 1860 and is buried in Fox Cemetery. b. Rebecca Addie Fox, born 15 Jan 1854. She married William D. Gass on 5 Dec 1877 and died 10 Jul 1906. + c. James Newton Fox, born 17 Nov 1856. + d. Melvin L. Fox, born 14 Jan 1858. + e. Carroll Walker Fox, born 1 Mar 1862. + f. Nancy Ann Fox, born 19 Apr 1866 + g.
