    3. Could someone please tell me how the Evans are related to the Emerts family? My grandmother was born in Emerts Cove, TN in 1898 and said that the hills were so steep that her dad had to hand plow the fields as a mule or horse could not be used for plowing. Her dad would then poke a hole with a long stick, and she would follow along behind dropping in the corn. Needless to say, they moved away to flatter land which was easier to farm. If anyone has any pictures of the area, I would love to see them. Thanks so much for any help you can give about the Evans-Emerts connection and any pictures that may be sent!
