Hi, My name is Conniesue and I am new to the Macon County, North Carolina List I am trying to search my Oneal line of which I know virtually nothing of. I do know that my father's patrnal grandmother was LAURA MORGAN ONEAL. She was born in Cowee Township, Macon County, North Carolina in 1860. She lived with her step-father Gilbert Hughes until 1874. She married DAVID ONEAL in 1974 in Loudon County, Tennessee. They had these children: Laura L. Minnie and/or Lizzie William Price or William E.P.(My grandfaher) There is a possibility that they had these children, but it was under the spelling ONEILL that they were found: Maggie James W. David F. David dropped offf the fact of the earth after the marriage. Laura is on the Guion-Miller Roll under Laura Oneal ( which is strange because if a woman is Native Americnan sheusually goes by her maiden name. There is defintely Cherokee in my heritage just not sure what side. I guess she may have used David's name for the children. She is on the 1910 census with PRICE only at the age of 18. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
