    2. >From The Knoxville News Sentinel 13 May 2003 ADKINS, JACK - of Arroyo Grande, Calif., BUCK, EMMA RUTH - age 78, of Oak Ridge, CAPSHAW, LOUISE CURD - age 72, a resident of Oak Ridge, and formerly of Oliver Springs, ===================================== ADKINS, JACK - of Arroyo Grande, Calif., passed away Sunday, May 11, 2003. He was born May 13, 1926, in Jacksboro, Tenn. He served 8 years in the Navy. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Chicago. Retired to Arroyo Grande from Chicago in 1991. Survived by his loving wife, Una of Arroyo Grande; son, Paul Adkins of Arroyo Grande; brother, Joe Adkins of Lombard, Ill.; sisters, Frances Hyde of Jacksboro, Tenn., Pearl Geraci of Tampa, Fla.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Private family services to be held. Arrangements by McDermott-Crockett Mortuary. BUCK, EMMA RUTH - age 78, of Oak Ridge, died at Windwood Health Care Center in Clinton on May 11, 2003. Born in Jellico, Tenn. to parents, Albert and Bertha Douglas Bell on 5-16- 1924. A homemaker, seamstress, and cook who enjoyed the gardening of vegetables and flowers. Mrs. Buck belonged to the Church of God Mountain Assembly, Jellico, as a child. Preceded in death by husband, Oran Clarence Buck, 11-23- 2001. Survivors include sons, Oran Buck, Jr. and wife, Donna of Miami, Fla., Albert Buck of St. Marie's, Idaho, Ronnie Buck and wife, Kim of Knoxville, Steve Buck and wife, Angie of Oak Ridge; sister, Mary Williams and husband, Harrison of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Chris, Brian, and Stacey Buck of Miami, Fla., Nikki Buck of St. Marie's, Idaho, Aaron and Adrienne Buck of Knoxville, Shane and Amy Wiseman of Oak Ridge, Theresa Wiseman of Nashville; great-grandchild, Dae McCoy of Nashville. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary tonight at 8 p.m. with Rev. Jerome Walden officiating. Graveside service will be on Wednesday, 11 a.m. at the Douglas Cemetery in Jellico. The family requests, memorials be made to the Clinch River Home Health, Inc., in care of Beth A. Fee, PO Box 56, Clinton, TN 37717-0056. The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge. CAPSHAW, LOUISE CURD - age 72, a resident of Oak Ridge, and formerly of Oliver Springs, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, May 11, 2003, at her home with her family by her side. Mrs. Capshaw was born April 18, 1931, to the union of the late Skiley Curd, Sr. and Willie Mae Young Curd. She was a also preceded in death by brother, Floyd Curd, and a sister, Alberta Curd Frazier. Mrs. Curd was born in Oliver Springs. She married Mr. James Capshaw in 1950. They remained in Oliver Springs until 1957, when they moved to Oak Ridge. They have continued to live in Oak Ridge until present day. Mrs. Capshaw worked as a nannie and housekeeper at the Goswitz-Vodopick home of Oak Ridge for twenty-eight years. She was a member of the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Oak Ridge. Survivors: husband, James Capshaw of Oak Ridge; son, Rondal Lee Capshaw and wife, Katrina, of Knoxville; daughters, Janice Capshaw Vines and husband, Charlie Vines Jr., of Oak Ridge, Denise Capshaw and fiancee, Chris Gaines of Oak Ridge; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe Lewis Curd of Oliver Springs, Skiley Curd Jr. of Oliver Springs, Reverend Benjamin Curd of Morristown; sister, Lena Mae Curd of Oliver Springs; aunts, Mildred Harrison of Clinton, and Lida Montgomery of Oliver Springs; special friends, Mary Apple, JoAnn Baker, Helen Land, and Irene Timmons. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Elder T. L. Mimms officiating. Graveside services and burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church between 12 Noon and 1:00 p.m. Wednesday.
