June was born November 17, 1924, in Harriman, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed Hart and Blanche Hart Jones of Wartburg, Tenn., and a brother, Alvin Hart of Wartburg, Tenn. She is survived by husband of 63 years, Charles Harvey Basler, Sr. of Stockbridge, Ga.; three children, Brenda June Basler of McDonough, Ga., Charles Harvey Basler, Jr. (Melinda Hewgley) of Knoxville, Tenn., and John Blanchard Basler (Sonya Teal) of McDonough, Ga. She is also survived by sister, Mildred Hart Dillon (John, deceased) of Wartburg,Tenn., and a brother, Howard Hart (Jackie Bradley) of Ashdown, Ariz. She is survived by grandchildren, Lawrence Herbert Redford, Jr. of Rome, Ga., Tracey Leigh Redford of McDonough, Ga., Charles Harvey Basler, III (Terri Turner) of Hightstown, N.J., Andrew Hayes Basler (Alice Gallegos) of Atlanta, Ga., and Madison Teal Basler of McDonough, Ga., and great- grandchild, Amber Michelle Redford of Ft. Worth, Texas. June is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. June was of the Baptist faith. She took great pleasure in her family and wide circle of friends. She enjoyed a close family relationship with her entire family. Her delight was all aspects of rearing her children, continuing to the lives of the next generations. June grew up in Petros, Tenn., and Wartburg,Tenn., and spent many years of her adult life in Knoxville, Tenn. She was Postmistress at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, when the UTK Post Office was in South College near Ayres Hall on 'The Hill' and then at the Carolyn Brown Student Center on the UTK Campus, before moving with her family to Atlanta in 1967. In Atlanta, she worked for Dr. Sheldon Soble, podiatrist, and Dr. E. G. Cullens, dentist, before her retirement. In addition, she maintained close friendships with special friends, Marty Pressley and Peggy Duncan (recently deceased). Funeral and burial was in Stockbridge, Ga., at Fairview Memorial Gardens. Born on June 7, 1914, in Winston County, Alabama, to parents Franklin and Lelon Ann Hogue Berry. Retired from Union Carbide in 1977, where he retired as a machinist at the Y-12 facility. Survivors include wife, Eva Berry of Oak Ridge; son, Don Berry and wife, Rabiab of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter, Brenda Schrimsher and husband, Mac of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; one sister; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary at 8 p.m. tonight with Joseph Easterly officiating. Memorials may be made to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. He was born July 5, 1960, in Anderson County. Survivors: father, Hugh and Kay Kennedy of Clinton; mother, Sandra Brown and husband, Gerald of Boca Raton, Florida; sister, Beverly Brown and husband, Jimmy of Austin, Texas; grandmother, Dot Walker of Oak Ridge. PETREY, NONA D. - age 57, of Caryville, passed away early Saturday morning, May 24, 2003, at her home. Preceded in death by mother, Alma Cummings Ward. She was of the Baptist faith.
