Born Sept. 11, 1926, in Graham County, N.C., she was the daughter of Ed and Burdell Breedlove Jenkins, both now deceased. Mrs. Taylor came to Oak Ridge in 1947 from North Carolina. She worked as a unit secretary at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge and retired in 1988. She was a member of Robertsville Baptist Church, and the family said she enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family and working in her yard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo P. Taylor in 1979, and two brothers, Cecil Jenkins and Marshall Jenkins. Mrs. Taylor is survived by two sons, Don Taylor and wife, Sandy, of Gastonia, N.C., and Steve Taylor and wife, Marleen, of Knoxville; a daughter, Kathy Boswell; a brother, Eugene Jenkins and wife, Opal; and by a sister-in-law, Edith Jenkin, all of Gastonia. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, David Taylor and wife, Marian, Diane Taylor, Janna Boswell and Joshua Boswell, all of Gastonia, Laura Taylor and Kim Holloway, both of Oak Ridge, Randy Holloway and wife, Lisa, of Oliver Springs; three great-grandchildren, Jeremy Taylor, Lauren Taylor and Ross Taylor, all of Gastonia; and by several nieces and nephews. Members of Robertsville Baptist Church Women's Missionary Union are considered her special friends. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2003, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Michael Prince officiating. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 30, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. William F. "Bill" Cox, 68, of Heiskell, died Tuesday, May 27, 2003. Born May 15, 1935, in Anderson County, he was the son of Owen and Thelma Thacker Cox, both now deceased. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Andersonville, but attended Island Home Baptist Church in Norris. Mr. Cox retired from Russell Pest Control and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force who served during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Cox; a sister, Betty Silvey; his father-in-law, the Rev. J. S. Brooks; his mother-in-law, Libby Brooks; and by a nephew, Tim Brooks. The late Gerald Whaley was considered a good friend. Mr. Cox is survived by his wife of 48 years, Thelma Brooks Cox; a daughter, Rhonda Lail of Heiskell; a grandson, Ryan Lail of Heiskell; and by a brother, Owen Cox and wife, Dottie, of Oliver Springs. He is also survived by two brothers-in-law, Kyle Brooks and wife, Cleo, of Clinton, and Joe Brooks and wife, Viola, of Heiskell; two sisters-in-law, Imogene Hackler and husband, Lester, of Knoxville, and Lola Heck and husband, Frances, of Powell; and by several nieces and nephews. David Archer of Clinton, the Owenby sisters of Knoxville, Phyllis Wilson Cooper of Maynardville and Misty Irwin of Halls are considered special friends. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Ethel Mae Moneymaker, 89, of Clinton, died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at her home. Born Sept. 23, 1913, in Blount County, she was the daughter of Sam and Mary Bly Rhyne. She was member of Zion Baptist Church and a former employee of Magnet Hosiery Mills in Clinton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Moneymaker. Mrs. Moneymaker is survived by two daughters, Sue Foster and Mary Vowell, both of Clinton; grandchildren, Michael and Allison Foster and Tim and Kim Vowell, all of LaFollette, Sherry and Wayne Fox, Lyndon and Angie Foster, Scott and Debbie Vowell, all of Clinton, and Maria and Scott Loomis, of Jacksboro; 11 great-grandchildren; and by several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2003, in the chapel at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, with the Rev. Ernest Wright officiating. The burial will follow at Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 29, at the funeral home. Louise Olevia Parson Barger, 72, of Oak Ridge, died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at her home. Born Sept. 19, 1930, in Chattanooga, she was the daughter of Hubert H. Parson and Rosa Mae Ingram Parson, both now deceased. Mrs. Barger and her husband, Calvin Lester "Buck" Barger, who died June 18, 1998, owned and operated Barger Appliance Service in Oak Ridge for over 30 years. She was a member of Royce Baptist Church and the family said she enjoyed playing golf and bowling. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Douglas Barger on Jan. 7, 1976. Mrs. Barger is survived by a daughter, Peggy Sue Brummett and husband, David Ray, of Oak Ridge; three grandchildren, Michael Douglas Schaefer of Oak Ridge and his fiancé, Sarah Louise Hunley, of Lake City, Karen Nicole Brummett and Rachel Michelle Brummett, both of Oak Ridge; and by a great-granddaughter, Brittany Nicole Quilliams of Oliver Springs. She is also survived by five sisters-in-law, Phoebe Mullins and husband, Howard, Rose Seals and husband, Jim, and Kay Barger, all of Oak Ridge, Kate Massengill of Dayton, and Betty Barger of Atlanta, Ga.; and by several nieces and nephews. Lamar Edward Brackett, 63, of Harriman, formerly of Lenoir City and Tucson, Ariz., died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Mr. Brackett was a retired healthcare giver and a veteran of the U.S. Navy who served during the Vietnam War. He is preceded in death by his father, Roy Marcus Brackett; a sister, Wanda Brackett McGhee; and by a brother, Gary Lynn Brackett. Mr. Brackett is survived by his mother, Odell Brackett of Lenoir City; five sisters, Willie Duncan, Patricia Baker, Gail Silvey and Joy McGinnis and husband, Bill, all of Lenoir City, and Linda Jenkins and husband, Ray, of Chattanooga; a brother, Ronnie Brackett of Chattanooga; and by several nieces and nephews. Peter Vandyke, whom Mr. Brackett cared for and shared his home, is considered a special friend. Born May 31, 1948, in Knoxville, she was the daughter of Maydean Freels Gault of Claxton and Glen Gault, now deceased. She was a member of Arlington United Methodist Church. She received a bachelor of science degree in home economics and a master's degree in institutional administration from the University of Tennessee. Mrs. Lanier was a registered dietitian and a member of Memphis District Dietetic Association and American Dietetic Association. She also had her own dietetic consulting practice in the Memphis and the Mid-South area. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Eunice Lanier. Mrs. Lanier is survived by her husband of 32 years, Alton B. Lanier; her mother; a daughter, Anna Marie Lanier of Arlington; three sons, Forrest Lanier of Jackson, and Brock Lanier and Glen Lanier, both of Arlington; three sisters, Dean Wilson of Knoxville, Jane Gault of Nashville and Margie Ownby and husband, Steve, of Claxton; and by her father-in-law, Roland Lanier of Blackshear, Ga. She is also survived by a niece and nephew, Carisa Ownby and David Ownby, both of Claxton; and by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
