Muse, 65, Jacksboro, ===================================== Wilma "Jean" Brooks, 66, Jacksboro, died April 29, 2003 while visiting her family in Adrian. She was born November 5, 1936 in Habersham to Staley and Florence (Taylor) Copeland. On August 28, 1955 she married Walter Brooks. Jean worked for Marco Products as a machine operator for 20 years. She had many talents, including crocheting, quilting and sewing. She also enjoyed going to flea markets. The most gracious moments were those she spent with her children and grandchildren. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and will greatly be missed by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband; Walter Brooks; her parents and a sister, Carolyn. She is survived by her three children, Gary Brooks, Lynn and his wife Susan Brooks, Kimberly and her husband, Gary Whitehead, all of Adrian; three brothers, Harold, Charlie and Leonard; four sisters, Ann, Jan, Linda, and Lavada; nine grandchildren, Rob, Justin, Kyle, Jessica, Daniel, Kaitlynn, Connor, Rachel, and Janelle. Funeral services were May 3, 2003, in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Ray Wilson officiating. Interment followed after in Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Lenawee, 415 Mill Rd. #4, Adrian, MI 49221. Martin Wilson Funeral Home and Braun Everiss Wagely Funeral Home were in charge of the arrangements. Allie H. Hackler, 95, Jellico died Monday, April 28, 2003 at Jellico Community Hospital. She is preceded in death by her parents, Linas Heaps and Mattie Vaughn Heaps; husband, Herbert Hackler Sr.; two daughters, HerbaJean Hackler and Lou Herrell. She is survived by one son, Herbert Hackler Jr., Jellico; two daughters, Joy Herrell, Pikeville, KY, Lois Holland, LaFollette; 12 grandchildren, 15 great children, one great-great grandchild; two brothers, Artie Heaps, Toledo, OH, Charlie Heaps, Sylvania, OH; one sister, Cora Smiddy, Corbin, KY. Visitation was April 30, 2003 at the funeral home. Funeral services were May 1, 2003 at Harp Funeral Home Chapel Reverends Ronald Wilson and Durand Dixon officiated. Burial was in Jellico Cemetery. Harp Funeral Home of Jellico was in charge of the arrangements. Emalee Henegar Leach, 92, Speedwell, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at St. Mary's Medical Center of LaFollette. She was a devout Christian and charter member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Se was a loving wife, mother, and adored her precious grandchildren. She loved gardening, quilting and singing. She was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Leach is preceded in death by her husband Verlin James Leach; infant son, J.B. Leach and sons, Earl Leach; parents, Andrew Jackson Henegar and Eliza Lumpkins Henegar; stepmother, Nora Henegar; special uncle and aunt, Sanford and Eliza Bailey; grandson, Rick Leach; granddaughter, Teresa Leach; great grandson; Dale Leach; half brothers, Elmer and Albert Henegar; and half sister, Evelina Johnson. Mrs. Leach is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Arden and Louise Leach, Elmon Leach, Russell and Joyce Leach and Wayne and JoAnn Leach, all of LaFollette, Eugene and Nancy Leach, Speedwell; daughters and sons-in-law, Faye and Hubert Carroll, LaFollette, Janet and Millard Summers, Knoxville; daughter-in-law, Chelsie Leach, Clinton. Grandchildren include: Ronnie Carroll, Marvin Leach, Cindy Hewitt, Steve Summers, Karen Clark, Jeff Summers, Kelly Brenny, Shannon Thackston, and Kent Leach all of Knoxville; Linda Pinion, Claxton; Marilyn Wells, Roger Leach, Connie Smith, Dennis Leach, Vickie Heatherly, Brian Leach, and Michael Leach of LaFollette; Richard Leach and Mark Leach, Andersonville, Michelle Bennett, Johnson City. Step-grandchild, Cheryl McCoy; great-grandchildren, Melissa Cherry, Kevin Welch, Tysha Tindell, Mark and Sandy Wells, Jamie and Keisha Smith, Rhonda and Ginny Carrol, Kimala victory, Erica Leach, Marty and Matt Leach, Kristi and Kari Summers, Darryl Bennett, Kinsey and Kendall Clark, Shea Summers, Rachel Leach, Calab Leach, Zoe Leach and EmaLee Thackston; step great grandchildren, Brandon Golden, Randy and Larry McCoy; 11 great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild as well; half brother, Malcolm and Lee Henegar. Her grandsons served as pallbearers. The family received friends Saturday May 2, 2003 at the Martin Wilson Funeral Home in LaFollette. Funeral services followed that with Rev. Charles Goins officiating. Interment was Sunday May 4, 2003 at Leach Cemetery, Speedwell. Memorials can be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church, 1319 Flat Hollow Road, Speedwell, TN 37870. Earl Parker, 63, Jacksboro, died Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at his home. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jacksboro. He was a member of the Caryville Masonic Lodge #623 F & AM Earl retired from X-10 with over 36 years service. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and blue grass music. He was preceded in death by parents; Dit T. and Laura Pressnell Parke; brother, Russell Dean Parker. Mr. Parker is survived by his wife, Betty Sue Nelson Parker, Jacksboro; daughters, Suzanne Elzey, Maryville, Maria Parker, Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Misty and Scott Dunlap III, Louisville; one grandson, Brandon Smith, Caryville; brothers, Jack Parker, OH, Jerry Wayne Parker, Knoxville; sisters, Faye Cox, Helen Tallent, Knoxville, Jane Richardson, Leabon, Margaret Price, Powell, Ruth Wilson, Jacksboro, Sandra Hardenburg; sister-in-law, June Parker, both of Maryville, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Friday, April 25, 2003 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Reverends Bobby Ray Wilson and David Hicks both officiating. Interment was Saturday, April 26, 2003 in Campbell Memorial Gardens. Visitation was held Friday night before the Masonic Funeral Service. Jack Sumner, 78, Knoxville, died April 22, 2003. A loyal member of Tekon Baptist Church, he was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Sumner was retired from TVA, the owner of Sumner Associates, and was a devoted grandfather. He is preceded in death by his son, Rick Edwards; parents, Mack and Cora Sumner; sister, Pauline Broyles; and brother, Claude Sumner. He is survived by his loving wife, Anna (Ann) Sumner; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Karen Sumner, Knoxville; sons, Mike, Louisville, KY, Billy, Chattanooga, and Dike, Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Rich Keil, Knoxville; grandchildren, Chadd, Zakary, Kris and Hannah Keil, Knoxville; sisters, Evelyn Way, Edith Toliver, LaFollette, Ruth Lamb, Sweetwater; brothers and sisters-in-law, Hugh and Billy Sumner, Bellbrook, OH, Ernest and Marjorie Sumner, Fayetteville, GA; several nieces and nephews. The family received friends at Highland Memorial April 24, 2003, a chapel service immediately followed, conducted by Reverends Bill Dean and Keith Price. Graveside services were April 25, 2003 in the Highland Memorial Cemetery. Alice Cherry Tramell, Bardstown, KY, died, April 27, 2003 in Atlanta where she resided since 1993. She graduated from Randolph Macon Women's College, married Attorney Herman K. Tramell and lived in Jellico for many years. She is survived by her daughter, Alice Ann Sage, Atlanta; son, Redford and wife Elizabeth who are Baptist Missionaries to Lima, Peru; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren. Graveside service were May 3, 2003 at the Jellico Cemetery it would have been her 101st birthday. Patsy Sue Webber, 54, Clinton, formerly of Briceville, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at her residence. She was born March 6, 1949. Patsy was a member of the New River Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Burl and Della Mae Mowery Poore; sons, Billy Joe and Benjamin Neland; brother, Burl Poore. Her survivors are three sons, Bob Neland, Juden Neland and wife Marsha, both of Clinton, Pat Neland and wife Syrenna, Briceville; three daughters, Tammy Summer and husband Roy, Oliver Springs, Jackie Webber, Farragutt, Loretta Webber, LaFollette; two brothers, Juden and Buster Poore; and father of her daughters, Tim Webber. Visitation was Friday, May 2, 2003 at the Hatmaker Funeral Home with memorial Service following, Rev. Dana Ward officiated. Hatmaker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Joe Allen Ellison, 66, 513 East Ash Street, LaFollette, died Sunday May 4, 2003 at the St. Mary's Hospice in Knoxville. He was a member of the Fordtown Baptist Church. He was retired from Alpha Industries in Knoxville. His parents, Clayton and Ernie Pauline Ellison, preceded him in death. Mr. Ellison is survived by his daughters, Tammy Esser, Knoxville, Brenda Jackson, LaFollette, Barbara Sue Partin, Toledo, OH; sons, Bobby Ray Hamel and George Bill Hamel, Barbourville, KY; eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial services were Wednesday, May7 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with visitation before. Reverends David Hicks and Ronnie Freeman officiated. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Frank James Patton, 72, Lebanon, died Sunday, May 4, 2003 at Quaker Heights Nursing Home in Waynesville. Born in LaFollette on April 3, 1931 to Robert E. and Luda Mae (nee: Moore) Patton. He worked for 30 years at the Dayton Tire and Rubber Company. He later worked at Der Dutchman restaurant in Waynesville. Mr. Patton was an active member of Friendship Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gene and Glen Patton; sister, Norma Schantz. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ruby Opal (nee: Parrott) Patton; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Lana Patton, Hamilton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Trish and Mike Hill, Sherry and Hoie Ward, all of Lebanon; one sister, Wanda Valentine, Knoxville; one sister-in-law, Bertha Patton, Dayton; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The visitation was held Tuesday, May 6. Funeral services were Wednesday, May 7 all at the Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon. Reverends James O. Brown and Chad D. Blevans officiating. Interment followed in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. Otis Phillips, 78,Caryville, (Ridgewood Community), died Thursday, May 1, 2003 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. He was a member of Willow Brook Baptist Church and also a member of Coal Creek Lodge. He was a WWII Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lanie Phillips; sisters, Imogene and Georgie, and brothers, Carvin, Bart and Winkle. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Gross Phillips, Caryville; sons, Gary Lee Phillips and wife Sandi Lynn, Knoxville, John David Phillips and wife Twyla Jane, Lake City, Rick Phillips and wife Vickie, Lake City, and Joe Bruce Phillips, LaFollette; grandchildren, Keith, Tim, Mike, Laura, Chris and James; eight great grandchildren; brother, Carlis Phillips, Oliver Springs and a host of other relatives and friends. The family received friends on Saturday May 3, at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home. Funeral services were Sunday May 4 there also. Rev. Roger Leach officiated. Interment followed the service at Oak Grove Cemetery with full Military honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Raymond Dean Ward, 53, 306 Cave Springs Road, LaFollette, died Friday, May2, 2003 at his home. He was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints in LaFollette. His father, Henry Ward, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Mary Smallwood Ward, Barbourville; mother, Ruby Ward, LaFollette; son, Jason Ward, Knox. Co., KY; daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and Clark Jr. Mills, Knox Co, and Lisa and David Edwards, Caryville; five grandchildren; brothers, Clifford Ward, Paintsville, KY, Kenneth and Johnny Ward, Jacksboro, Ralph, Coy, and Joey Ward, all of LaFollette; sisters, Della Saylor, Lexington, KY, and Diana Lemaire, LaFollette; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were May 4, 2003 in Martin Wilson Chapel with the receiving of friends before. Elder Gene Muggridge officiated. Interment followed in Campbell Memorial Gardens. He attended LaFollette Tabernacle of Praise. George was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who enjoyed sending time with his family and friends. Mr. Walden was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Walden; parents, George Welsey and Carrie Bell Branam Walden; brothers, Ted and James Walden; sisters, Chyintha Fox and Lula Archer. George is survived by his ex wife, Dena Walden Jones, LaFollette; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Jennifer Walden, Jacksboro; daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Billy Ayers and Wanda Sue and Danny Wright, all of LaFollette; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; brothers, Leroy and Billy Walden, both of Kokomo, IN; sister, Mary Newport, Jellico; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Tuesday, May 6 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Sparks officiated. Interment followed in Walden Hollow Cemetery. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Robin J. Brooks, 32, LaFollette, died, Thursday May 1, 2003 at St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. She was of the Baptist Faith. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Jeanie Martin Brooks; grandparents, Mervin and Mary Isbell. She is survived by her brothers, Frank Brooks, Danny Hendrix, Trace Hendrix and Tommy Hendrix, all of Florence, AL; grandparents, Orville and Maxine Greer, Elizabethton; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. All services will be conducted in Florence, AL at the families request. No local visitation or service is planned. Walters Funeral Home, LaFollette is in charge of the arrangements. Earl J. Muse, 65, 127 Ridenour Lane, Jacksboro, died Friday May 2, 2003 in Chattanooga. Mr. Muse was of the Baptist Faith. He liked Gospel and blue grass music. His favorite artist was Willie Nelson. Mr. Muse is preceded in death by his first wife, Freeda Muse; parents, Charles and Margaret Brooks Muse; brothers Hershel and Bobby Muse. He is survived by his wife, Stella Muse, Jacksboro; son, Joe Muse, Chattanooga; daughters, Margaret Muse, LaFollette, Sharon Muse, Oak Ridge, Earlene Muse and Karen Bolen, both of Jacksboro; step sons, Ralph Lee and Bradley E. Ridenour, both of LaFollette; step daughters, Carol Lillian Dopp, LaFollette, and Melissa Ridenour, Knoxville; grand daughter, Felicea Muse, LaFollette; step grand children, Jordan Dopp, Justin, David, Erica, and Jamie Ridenour, all of LaFollette; brothers, Mack Muse, Jacksboro, Paul Muse, LaFollette, Ronnie Muse, Speedwell, and Danny Muse, TX; sisters, Carolyn Wilson and Linda Muse, both of LaFollette; and a host of other relatives and friends.
