She was born on December 24, 1915 in Claiborne County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Rev. James M. and Grace Marlow Day. She was a member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Ed Boshears, Sr.; one grandson, Gary Lee Jeffers; five brothers, Harold, James, John, Art and Paul; three sisters, Imogene, Mae and Evalee. Survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Ed Boshears, Jr. and wife, Jennifer, Curtis and Ann, Gary and wife, Carol, all of the Fairview Community, Paul and wife, Patsy of Oneida; six daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and husband, Johnny Murley, Loretta and husband, Ray Hatfield, Janetta and husband, Ted Davis, Judy and husband, Junior Smith, all of the Fairview community, Kathleen and husband, J.D. Burke of Oneida and Geneva and husband, Floyd Hatfield, of Greentown, Ind.; three sisters, Violet Huddleston and Ruth Davis of Clairfield, TN an Grace Noland of Sevierville, TN; twenty-one grandchildren, Charlotte, Danny, Tammie, Brian, Randy, Katrina, Keith, Karen, Craig, Melissa, Suzanne, Chad, Casey, Cyndi, Brittany, Amy, Christy, Jessica, Lori, Angie and Randy; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; a very special friend, Florence Byrd; many nieces, nephews and friends. The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, December 10, 2003 1:00 p.m. at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Guy Ainsworth and Rev. Michael Ray Jeffers officiating. She retired from Y-12 Union Carbide as a Lab Technician. Preceded in death by parents, Luther & Jessie Thornburg White. Born December 19, 1916 in Lenoir City, Tennessee. SURVIVORS: Son, R.C. MONDAY, JERRY ALLEN - age 55, of LaFollette, passed away Friday, December 5, 2003 at his home. He was a member of Coolidge First Baptist Church. Jerry had been with WLAF Radio for 18 years. Preceded in death by parents, Clayton and Nell (Miller) Monday. Survivors: daughters, Jennifer and husband, Mike Newman, of Knoxville and Becky Braden of Powell; grandchildren, Jordon, Taylor, Sam, Eli and Gavin; brother, Clarence Monday and wife, Deloris, of LaFollette. The funeral service will be 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at Cross Funeral Home, Rev. Ronnie Arnold and Rev. Leonard Dabney officiating. STEWART, HELEN GAMBLE - age 64, of Kingston and a former resident of Athens, passed away Sunday morning in a Kingston nursing home. She was a native of Anderson County, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late Ernest and Naomi Waddle Gamble. Preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Stewart, a former McMinn County manager. She was a member of Chapman Grove Baptist Church of Kingston, TN. Survivors: one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Jerry Elder of Newport News, VA; two sons, Lowell Tom Stewart, Jr. and Jeffrey Stewart, both of Lenoir City; three granddaughters, Christina and Kathleen Elder and Lindsey Stewart; three grandsons, Joshua and Justin Stewart and Gregory Elder; one sister, Linda Carr of Kingston, TN; two brothers, Harold Gamble of Kingsland, GA and Terry Gamble of Knoxville, TN. There will be a graveside service 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at McMinn Memory Gardens with Rev. Pete Mullins officiating. The body will lie in state at the funeral home after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday where the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews.
