HARRY T. - age 89 of LaFollette, YOUNG, GAIL - age 56, of Oak Ridge, ========================================= ALLEN, LAURA MAE CLAYTON - age 78, of Knoxville, formerly of the Clinton community, passed away Friday morning at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. She was of the Baptist faith and a resident at Heritage Assisted Living. Laura is preceded in death by her husband, Ledford Allen; son, Steve "Zyro" Allen and parents, Sanford and Mattie Clayton. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Keith Gaines; sisters, Hazel Blalock, Blanche Lones and Gladys Peterson and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 7, 2003 from 6-8 p.m. at Weaver Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Monday, December 8, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Weaver Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Highland Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Humane Society of The Tennessee Valley, P.O. Box 9479, Knoxville, TN 37940. Weaver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. BROOKS, JOSEPH "JOE" JACKSON - age 54, of Clinton, passed away December 3, 2003. He was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by parents, James R. and Telia M. Brooks. He enjoyed farming and art. Survivors: daughters, Evelyn Stone and husband, Eric, of Kingston; granddaughter, Whitney Stone, of Kingston; sisters, Mary Ellis and husband, Lynn, of Clarksville, Annie Mae Brummett of Clinton, Evelyn Carroll of Clinton and Martha Jo and husband, Carl Williams, of Clinton; brothers, Charles Brooks and wife, Betty, of Clinton, James R. Books and wife, Jerri, of Claxton, Franklin Brooks and wife, Dorothy, of Clinton, Samuel Books and wife, Betty, of Clinton, David Brooks and wife, Mary, of Clinton, Thomas Brooks and wife, Terri, of Lake City, John Brooks and wife, Elizabeth, of Spring City, Richard Brooks and wife, Kim, of Augusta, GA.; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2003 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with funeral services following in the chapel, Rev. Donnie Disney officiating. The interment will be 11:00 a.m. Sunday at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton in charge of all arrangements. HAWKINS, KENNETH JOE - age 66, of Lake City, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2003. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 6, from 6-8 p.m. at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City. The funeral service will be 8:00 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will be Sunday, December 7, at 2:00 p.m. at Norris Memorial Gardens. Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City is in charge of arrangements. TILLER, MR. HARRY T. - age 89 of LaFollette, passed away Friday, December 5, 2003 at St. Mary's Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was retired from the Y-12 Plant in Oak Ridge, and a member of the Cedar Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by wife, Thelma Tiller; brothers, George Tiller and Leon Tiller; sisters, Mattie, Edna and Naomi. Survivors: sons, Dan Tiller and wife, Sandra of LaFollette, Paul Tiller and wife, Yvonne of LaFollette; grandchildren, Kelly Pickett, Chelsey Tiller an Brianna Tiller; great-great grandchild, Jackson Cole Pickett. Funeral services Saturday, December 6, 2003, 8 p.m. at Walters Chapel with Reverend Bobby Ray Wilson and Reverend Kyle McDowell officiating. The family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Bakers Forge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 6, 2003, 6-8 p.m. at Walters Funeral Home. Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Harry Tiller. YOUNG, GAIL - age 56, of Oak Ridge, died Thursday, December 4, 2003 at the Methodist Medical Center. She was born December 30, 1946 in Memphis, TN. Mrs. Young was the founder of A & Y Cleaning Services, from which she retired. She was a member of Faith Promise Church and leader of the church prayer chain. Her family said she loved sports, both as a spectator and a participant. She is survived by: her husband, Gregory C. Young; daughters, Donna Adams and husband Brian of Chattanooga and Christine Beavers and husband Will of Oak Ridge; 3 grandchildren, William Alan Beavers and Sara Nicole Beavers of Oak Ridge and Ashley Adams of Chattanooga; parents, Melvin S. and Ouida Mayo Smith of Stantonville, TN; mother-in-law, Beatrice Young; and sister-in-law, Jackie Young, both of Oak Ridge. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Promise Church with Dr. Chris Stephens officiating. The family asks that any memorials be in the form of contributions to the Building Fund of Faith Promise Church, 10740 Faith Promise Lane, Knoxville, TN 37931.
