    3. MAGYAR Richard Magyar, Jr., of Oneida, passed away December 8, 2003, at the Oak Ridge Methodist Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Magyar. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Oneida. He was employed as a sports writer for the Roane County News in Harriman before coming to Scott County in 1976 as a sports editor for the Scott County News. He served as sports editor for eight years before being named editor of the Scott County News in 1984. He is survived by his father, Richard J. Magyar, Sr., of Harriman; one brother, Gary Magyar of Nashville; one nephew, Joseph; one niece, Melanie; special friends, David Terry and family of Oneida; and a host of other friends. The family was to have received friends Wednesday, from 6 - 8 p.m., at First Baptist Church in Oneida with funeral service to follow with Rev. Doug White and Kyle Keeton officiating. Music was to have been provided by First Baptist Church Choir and Randy Terry. Eulogy speakers were to have included Lonnie Ellis, Paul Strunk, Paul Phillips, Rick Harper, and Sylvia Billingsley. Entombment was to be conducted at 11 a.m., December 12, in Carson Memorial Mausoleum. Jones & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
