>From The Oak Ridger 22 Dec 2003 Bob R. Berrier, 74, of Clinton, David E. Miller, 80, of Oak Ridge, Dixie Louise Miller, 94, of Ripley, ========================================= Bob R. Berrier, 74, of Clinton, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born Nov. 19, 1929, he was the son of Fred and Ethel Berrier. Mr. Berrier was raised to the degree of master mason in Charles McKinney Lodge No. 433 in Knoxville in 1954, and later transferred his membership to Faith Lodge No. 756 in Oak Ridge. He then joined the Scottish Rite Temple in Knoxville in 1977. His family said he served the rite as an accomplished ritualistic until the time of his death. According to his family, his unwavering zeal for the fraternity was rewarded by his investiture as a knight commander of the court of honor in 1983 and received the 33rd degree of the Scottish Rite, Southern Jurisdiction in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 21, 1987. He also served as president of the Oak Ridge Scottish Rite Club and performed as "RoBo" the clown with the Kerbela Temple. His family said his dedication was well known and his talents as a ritualistic will be an enduring legacy to his beloved craft for generations to come. Mr. Berrier was a retired employee of Martin Marietta Energy Systems at the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant. His family said he was a private pilot and enjoyed flying in his younger days. His family said he also enjoyed taking Tai Chi classes in Oak Ridge and Knoxville. Mr. Berrier was in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict and later in the Air Force Reserve. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Jr., and his sister, Millie. Mr. Berrier is survived by his wife of 50 years, Charlotte Patt Berrier; his daughter, Barbara Metcalf and husband, Johnny, of Powell; his son, Randy Berrier and wife, Kim, of Maryville; and by four grandsons, Jason Metcalf and Josh Metcalf, both of Powell, Adam Berrier of Norris, and Tyler Berrier of Johnson City. He is also survived by two sisters, Joan Graham, of Knoxville, and Pat Munday, of Texas; a brother, Gary Berrier, of Knoxville; an aunt, Flora Berrier, of Knoxville; his stepmother, Margaret Berrier of Knoxville; a nephew, Tim Patt, who he considered special; and by several nieces, nephews and extended family members. His family said he will be remembered by many friends. His family wishes to thank Dr. Bill Robinson for his care. The funeral was Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. George Miller officiating. Burial was to be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton. David E. Miller, 80, of Oak Ridge, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at NHC HealthCare of Oak Ridge. Weatherford Mortuary is in charge of arrangements, which were incomplete at press time. Dixie Louise Miller, 94, of Ripley, grandmother of Ed Lampert of Oak Ridge, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Lauderdale County.
