MARTHA - age 71 of Lancing, ============================================ COX, CLAUDE RICHARD - 79, died on August 29, 2003 in his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Anderson County, Tennessee to the late, Jacob Charles Cox, Sr. and Dora Verna "Vernie" Lewis Cox. He retired as a CPO in the US Navy and served during WW II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Ocean View Fleet Reserve Association Branch 60, 50 year member of the Moose Lodge and was the President and Manager of the Water Oaks Condominium Association. He is survived by his wife, Rose Balsega Cox; four children, Patricia Cox Colthurst of Virginia Beach, Claudia Cox Wolfe of Arlington, Virginia and Richard Keith Cox and Douglas William Cox of Norfolk; sister, Irene Brock of Wisconsin; two brothers, Frank Cox of Tennessee and Samuel Cox of Texas; seven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday September 3, 2003 at 11 a.m. in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery in Anderson County, Tenn. MARTHA - age 71 of Lancing, passed away from this life on August 29th, 2003. She entered eternal life with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and one sister. She is survived by Glenn Griffith, her husband of almost 50 years. She was a devoted wife and mother and a wonderful grandmother. She will be missed by her two sons and daughters in law, Keith and Debbie Griffith of Deer Lodge and Roger and Missy Griffith of New Market. She will also be greatly missed by eleven grandchildren, Jacob, Taylor, and Callie Griffith of Deer Lodge, and Dillon, Haley, Caitlin, Madison, Tucker, Kelsey, Brianna, and Ethan Griffith of New Market who all thought the world of their grandma. She is also survived by three sisters and one brother, Macel Reagan, Reba McBroom, Vesta Phillips and James Robbins all of Oneida. The family will receive friends at Annadell Baptist Church, Martha's home church of 50 years, from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday August 31st. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Billy Goodman and Rev. Danny Jenkins officiating. Graveside services will be held Monday, September 1st at 11 a.m. in the Lone Mountain Cemetery in Scott County. Pallbearers will be her beloved nephews.
