    2. >From The Knoxville News Sentinel 24 Aug 2003 FISCHER, DOROTHY "DOT" - 77 of Oak Ridge MERIDIETH, CAROL ANN - age 60, formerly of Clinton, NELSON, BENJAMIN 'BEN' DOUGLAS - age 23, formerly of Oak Ridge ============================================ FISCHER, DOROTHY "DOT" - 77 of Oak Ridge passed away at her home Friday, August 22, surrounded by her family. She was born in Knoxville on December 7, 1925 to Robert Lindsay Kidd and Hattie Carroll Kidd. In 1942 she married Alva Louis Fischer and the following year moved to Oak Ridge. Mrs. Fischer was a member of High Places Community Church and had been a longtime member of Central Baptist Church, Oak Ridge, where she taught Sunday School. She was a former teacher's aide at Daniel Arthur Rehabilitation Center and, with her husband, was the owner of Jackson Square Antique Shoppe. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and was voted their Girl of the Year in 1957. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fischer was preceded in death by her son, Robert Allen Fischer; brother, Roy Lynn Kidd; sister, Bonnie Kidd Watson. Survivors include, husband of 61 years, A.L. Fischer; four sons and five daughters-in-law, Dennis and Betty Fischer, Martin and Carmen Fischer, Ted and Elizabeth Fischer, Tim and Patsy Fischer, all of Oak Ridge, Judy Carson Fischer Mathis, Florida. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Joshua Fischer, Carson Fischer, and Neal Fischer of Knoxville, Jacob Fischer of Hawaii, Daniel Fischer, Scott Fischer, Kristen Fischer, Timmy Fischer, Lindsay Fischer, and Sydnay Fischer of Oak Ridge. Funeral service will be held in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary on Monday, 8 PM with Rev. Martin Fischer officiating. Graveside service will be on Tuesday, 10 AM at Anderson Memorial Gardens. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to High Places Community Church, PO Box 4475, Oak Ridge, TN 37831, or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 5401 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919. The family will receive friends Monday, 6 - 8 PM at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge. MERIDIETH, CAROL ANN - age 60 of Millington, Tenn., formerly of Clinton, passed away Friday, August 22, 2003 in Memphis, Tenn. Preceded in death by her father, Clarence C. Wilson, retired as a supervisor with the Navy Exchange. Survivors: husband, Samuel R. Meridieth of Millington, Tenn.; son, Cecil Wayne Meridieth of Millington; mother, Esther Mae Wilson of Oak Ridge; sisters, Betty Overton, Joyce Miller both of Clinton; brothers, Gary Wilson, Clarence Wilson and David Wilson all of Clinton; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services 11 a.m. Tuesday Holley-Gamble Chapel, Rev. Mike Petty officiating. Interment will be in Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday August 25th Holley- Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, Tenn. in charge of arrangements. NELSON, BENJAMIN 'BEN' DOUGLAS - age 23, formerly of Oak Ridge died Thursday, August 21, 2003 at his home in Lenoir City. Mr. Nelson was a Senior at Tennessee Wesleyan College and a member of the First Baptist Church of Clinton. He is survived by: his parents, Douglas Gordon and Carol Elizabeth Colson Nelson of Oak Ridge; sister, Angela Michelle Mayfield and husband Donny of Athens; maternal grandparents, Grady and Ruth Colson of Knoxville; paternal grandmother, Betty Aird of Oak Ridge; paternal step-grandmother, Joyce Crabtree of Decatur and; paternal great grandmother, Lula Nelson of Knoxville; aunts, Linda Paschal and husband Tom of Carthage, Patti Thompson and husband Tommy of Niota, Sheri Richesin and husband Bud of Sweetwater; uncles, Frank Colson and wife Sharon of Halls, Cordell Colson and wife Jenny of Heiskell and Steve Nelson and wife Rachel of Kingston; many special friends and numerous cousins and extended family. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2003 at 8:00pm at Weatherford Mortuary with Rev. Donald Morris officiating. Graveside services will be held on Monday at 10:00am at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Tennessee Wesleyan College in his name, PO Box #40, Attention, Development Office, Athens, TN 37371.
