DYER, GLADYS ALTA - age 85, of Clinton, passed away Monday, August 4, 2003, at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was a member of Clinton Second Baptist Church. She was a former employee at Hammers in Clinton, where she had worked for over 30 years. Gladys was born August 19, 1917, in Knox County and grew up in the Marlow Community. After marrying Earl Dyer, they moved to Clinton, where they raised their three children. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed dogs, fishing and working in her flowers. Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Earl Dyer; parents, James Patrick and Nana Maude Johnson Donnelley; sisters, Myrtle Reed, Kathleen Myers and Anna Mae Edmonson. Survivors: daughters, Diane Dyer of Clinton, Sarah Sanders of Clinton, Peggy Atkinson and husband, Joseph of De Soto, Texas; grandchildren, Romona Zacheis, Cynthia Freeman, David Atkinson, Alison Moffet, and Jill Flowers; great-grandchildren, Lyndsey, Joshua, Lauren, Aaron, Stephen, Katlyn, Travis, Jessica, Joseph, Jamie, Jared, Dillon and Stuart; special nephew, Dick Reed; special nieces, Dorothy Schrader, Helen Compton, Mary Kay, Jo Anne and Bill Storm, and several nieces, nephews and extended family. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 7, 2003, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, in Clinton, with funeral service following at 8:00 p.m., in the chapel with Rev.
