RICHARD W. - age 88, of Kingston, WHITE, LINNIE LYKE - age 87, ============================================ FERGUSON, REBECCA "SHIRLEY" - age 66, of the Claxton Community, passed away Monday, August 4, 2003, at the U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville. She was a member of Valley View United Methodist Church in Claxton. Preceded in death by parents, Sam and Janette Pratt Bates; brothers, John, Glen and Robert Bates. Shirley was born May 4, 1937, in Chauncey, West Virginia. Survivors: husband, Donald L. Ferguson of Clinton; children, Sharon Curry and husband, Dean of Lake City, Tom Ferguson of the home in Claxton, Donnie Ferguson and wife, Kat of Caryville, Bob Ferguson of Michigan, Kathy Gallagher and husband, Richard of Mims, Fla.; grandchildren, Brandy Webber and husband, Corey of Lake City, Michael Ferguson and wife, Heather of Marietta, S.C., Donna Wallace and husband, Michael of Andersonville, Joey Ellenburg of Marietta, S.C., Travis Ferguson of Caryville, Becky Ellenburg Ostuni of Marietta, S.C., Kayla Ferguson of Mims, Fla., Dustin Ferguson of Mims, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Chrissy and Sarah Webber of Lake City; sisters-in-law, Marie Bates of Birmingham, Ala., Sue Wilson of Powell; aunt, Bessie Pratt of Clinton, and several nieces, nephews and extended family and a host of special friends. Special thanks to staff at Dialysis Center on Martin Mill Pike in Knoxville. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 6, 2003, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, in Clinton, with funeral service following at 8:00 p.m., in the chapel with Rev. Pat Bishop officiating. Interment will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday at Valley View Cemetery in Claxton. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, of Clinton, in charge of all arrangements. KIRTLEY, PEARL MARIE CARD - age 92, of Knoxville, formerly of LaFollette, passed away Monday, August 4, 2003, at her home. Member of the LaFollette United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Robert L. Kirtley and daughter, Betty Lee Kirtley Bevins. Survivors; granddaughters, Lisa Barrell and husband, Jim, and Brenda Portwood and husband, Russell; great-grandchildren, Joshua Maddox and Jessica Portwood, all of Knoxville. The family will receive friends Wednesday 10-11 a.m. at Walters Funeral Home, LaFollette, with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m., Rev. Steve Peek officiating. RICHARD W. - age 88, of Kingston, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2003, at the Roane Medical Center. He retired from ORNL as a Physicist, and was a member of Union Lodge #38 F&AM. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Lamphere. Survivors include son, David Lamphere; daughters, Doris Ferguson and Gracie Lamphere; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial service 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Kingston United Methodist Church with the Rev. Reed Shell officiating. She was preceded in death by parents, Tansy and Laura Lyke; brothers, Garfield and Kirby Lyke; sisters, Elsie, Ermy, Dolly and Lora Belle. She was a member of Davis Chapel Community Baptist Church. She is survived by husband, Ulyss White; brothers, Ernest Lyke of Goldsboro, North Carolina, T.J. Lyke of Holyyoke, Massachusetts and many nieces and nephews. The family of Linnie White will receive friends Tuesday, August 5, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cross Funeral Home and from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Davis Chapel Community Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., Rev. Leroy Braden and Rev. Darryl Edwards officiating. Interment will be in Sunrise Cemetery in the Davis Chapel community.
