AGNES - age 89, of LaFollette, GARRISON, NANCY ANN - age 80, of Oak Ridge, POLLOCK, WILLIAM JOHN, JR. - age 85, former long-time Oak Ridger, ============================================ FERGUSON, MRS. AGNES - age 89, of LaFollette, passed away Monday, August 25, 2003 at St. Mary's Health and Rehabilitation Center of Campbell County. She was a member of the LaFollette Church of God, and retired from LaFollette Hospital Dietary Services after 30 years of employment. She is survived by her family, Maxie and Dennis Kitts, Effie and Jim Goins, John and Devonia Ferguson, Jack Ferguson and Bruce Ferguson; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; several other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at LaFollette Church of God, with funeral services to follow at 8:00 p.m., with Reverend Norman Stallings officiating. GARRISON, NANCY ANN - age 80, of Oak Ridge, died 8-22-2003, at the Methodist Medical Center, following a brief illness. Daughter of the late Thomas Edmond and Nettie McPhail Garrison. Born April 16, 1923, in Anderson, S.C. Graduate of T. L. Hanna Girls High School in Anderson and Winthrop College. Came to Oak Ridge immediately following college graduation in 1943 as an employee of the Tennessee Eastman Corporation and lived and worked in Oak Ridge until her death. Member of Welcome Baptist Church in Anderson, S.C. In her younger days, she enjoyed hiking and golfing and she received great pleasure from travel and had traveled extensively throughout the world. She had a continuous interest in learning and over the years was involved in many courses, often on a graduate level, at the Oak Ridge Institute for Continued Learning. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Sara Garrison Cox of Belton, S.C., and Miss Lounelle Garrison of Anderson, S.C., and a nephew, James Bartlett Garrison of Anderson, S.C. She is survived by a long-time friend, Miss Phyllis Johnson of Oak Ridge; one brother, T. Ed Garrison and his wife, Juanita of Anderson, S.C.; five nieces, Gaye Garrison Sprague (Mrs. Joel) and Elisabeth Reid Garrison of Greenville, S.C., Lee Garrison Smith (Mrs. Ron) of Anderson, S.C., Catherine Anne Garrison Davis (Mrs. Mark) of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and Jane Cox Moon (Mrs. Keith) of Georgetown, S.C.; three nephews, Thomas E. Garrison III and wife, Angie and Ronald Cox and wife, Janis of Anderson, S.C., and Thomas Bailey Cox and close friend, Dan Adcock of Greenville, S.C.; six great nephews and four great nieces, Garrison Cox and Claire Cox of Anderson, S.C., James Edmond (Jay) and Ben Sprague of Greenville, S.C., Abbie Garrison, Lillie Garrison, Garrison Smith and Emily Smith of Anderson, S.C., andBaileyMoon and Mitchell Moon of Georgetown, S.C. A private interment of the cremains will be held in the plot of her parents and sister in Welcome Baptist Church Cemetery in Anderson, S.C. POLLOCK, WILLIAM JOHN, JR. - age 85, former long-time Oak Ridger, died Saturday, August 23, 2003, at his home at Outlook Pointe in Knoxville. Member of the Oak Ridge Rotary Club, the 43 Club, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and St. Stephens Episcopal Church. Mr. Pollock was the owner of The Music Box which opened in 1950 in Jackson Square at the corner of Broadway and Towne Rd. He sold his business in 1977. He continued working with Pollock Sound, until last year. Survived by his wife, Deszmer Crane Pollock; son, Jim Pollock of Boulder, Colo.; daughter, Susie Stout and husband, Lamarr of Knoxville; brother, Charles Addison Pollock and wife, Becky of Knoxville; grandchildren, Melissa Stout and Sarah Jordan Stout, of Knoxville, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2003, at 8:00 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary with Rev. Craig M. Kallio officiating. Private graveside services will be held on Wednesday at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family asks that any memorials be in the form of contributions to St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 212 N. Tulane Avenue, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge.
