You're welcome Beverly. Back in '55 I believe there was still in existance a second newspaper that was a competitor to the Bee, but my memory is failing me as to it's name. I'm wanting to say The Sacramento Herald, but I'm not certain. Eventually they became one paper. Probably a Genealogical Society in Sacramento Co. could help you find a source for their archives or maybe the State Library also located in Sacramento. Check rootsweb for Sacramento and you'll probably find an address or phone for the genealogical society there. Hope you have success.
