    2. >From The Oak Ridger 27 mAug 2003 Ronald D. Morrison, 55, of Harriman, formerly of Oliver Springs, Ruby "Jean Patton" Geraldine Patton Phillips, 69, of Clinton, Bertha F. Hallcox, 83, of Clinton, =========================================== Ronald D. Morrison, 55, of Harriman, formerly of Oliver Springs, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge after a long illness. Mr. Morrison was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. He grew up in the Norwood area of Oliver Springs, went to school at Norwood Elementary School and Clinton High School, where he met his wife Lana Duncan. The couple was married right out of high school and moved to Athens, Ala., where he went to work with Tennessee Valley Authority Brown Ferry Nuclear Plant in 1973. He and his family later moved to Spring City to work at the TVA Watts Bar Nuclear Plant, wh ere they lived for 20 years before moving to Harriman. His family said he enjoyed fishing, gardening and coaching children in T-ball and football. Mr. Morrison also took a girls softball team to the World Softball Tournament in Marietta, Ga. According to his family, he was well known as a giving person and a loving family man. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rauleigh and Lucilla Morrison. In addition to his wife of 36 years, Mr. Morrison is survived by his daughter, Candy Jean Morrison and fiancé, Eric Latshaw, of Spring City; his brother, Rauleigh Morrison Jr. of Lawrenceville, Ga.; his sister, Phyllis Crenshaw of Locust Grove, Ga.; and by many extended family members. His family said he will be missed by many friends. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, in the chapel of Oliver Springs Mortuary with the Rev. Garvan Walls and the Rev. Homer Gunter officiating. Burial will follow at Spring City Memorial Garden in Spring City. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to the American Lung Association of Tennessee, 212 S. Peters Road, Knoxville, TN 37923, or to a charity of the donor's choice. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the mortuary. Ruby "Jean Patton" Geraldine Patton Phillips, 69, of Clinton, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, at Baptist Health System in Knoxville. Born Dec. 30, 1933 in Crossville, she was a 36-year member of North Clinton Baptist Church, an active chaplain with the Salvation Army, and a member of the AARP organization. According to her family, Mrs. Phillips was a loving caregiver for the elderly and loved visiting area nursing homes. Her family said she spent most of her adult life witnessing to others and helping them to come to know Christ as their Savior. Her family said she was a loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by husband, Roy Clarence Patton; daughter, Ruby Jane "Squeekie" Patton; and by several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Phillips is survived by three daughters, Mary Frances Armes and husband, Robert, of Wartburg, Mary Jane Reneau and husband, Steve, of Clinton, and Jennifer Childress and husband, John, of Heiskell; nine grandchildren, Lisa Brady, Robia Rains, Bobbie Armes, Christopher Armes, Joshua Armes, Samantha Jane Goins and husband, Tate, Marvin McHugh and wife, Kelly, Leslie Rutherford and Logan Rutherford; and by nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers-in-law, Bill Patton and wife, Elizabeth, of Andersonville, and Charles Patton and wife, Pat, of Clinton; three sisters-in-law, Mary Jewell Patton of Clinton, Mary Anne Blankenship and husband, Oscar, and Naomi Phipps and husband, Herman, all of Livingston; and by several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Her family said she will be remembered by many special friends at Clinton Towers, where she had made her home. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with Sgt. Shirley Robinson and the Rev. Ralph Wilson officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at New Bonaire Cemetery in Bonaire. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home Bertha F. Hallcox, 83, of Clinton, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born July 7, 1920, in Verda, Ky., she was the daughter of Tom and Emma Jane Farner, both now deceased. Mrs. Hallcox was a member of Gospel Outreach Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Hallcox; two sisters, Ethel Anderson and Eva Farner; and by a brother, Tom Farner. Mrs. Hallcox is survived by a great-granddaughter, Kaylie Hallcox; a niece, Jerry Hallcox and family, of Maryville; two sisters-in-law, Ethel Wormsley of Coalfield and Hazel Beets of Clinton; a brother-in-law, Rex Hallcox and wife, Ester, of Clinton; and by several nieces and nephews. Her family said she will be remembered by many friends. The funeral was Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Bill Edmonds officiating.
