Mr. Thompson was a Campbell County native and a son of the late David Crockett and Bertha Brandenburg Thompson. He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church. Mr. Thompson was a World War II Army veteran, having served In Japan and the Philippines in the Pacific Theater. He was a Mason and a Shriner. Mr. Thompson was a long-time member of veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3382. He had been a scales technician in the Tri-Cities area. He is survived by his wife, Betty Martin Thompson; two sisters, Dorothy Richardson and Beulah Crabtree, both of LaFollette; and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
