Member of Solway Church of God. Preceded in death by parents, Carl and Mae Raby; husband, Harrison E. Robbins; sisters, Edna Dunaway and Mae Nelson; brothers, Bob and Gene Raby, and grandson, Dennis Robbins. She will be greatly missed forever by: sons, Ed Robbins and wife, Alice of Utah, Bill Robbins and wife, Jan of Oak Ridge; daughters, Ruth Stone of Alabama, Ruby Cox of Utah, and Vivian Ferrell and husband, Bob of California; brothers, Carl Raby, Jr. of Illinois, Jim Raby of LaFollette, and John Raby of Texas; 26 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends and Teresa Robbins of Clinton, the wife of deceased grandson, Dennis. WEBBER, GRACE - age 83, of Clinton, passed away, Sunday, June 29, 2003, at St. Mary's Residential Hospice in Halls. She was loved by those who knew her. She loved working with her flowers and spending time with her family. She will sadly missed by her family. McNEILLIE, JENNIFER I. - 47 of St. Petersburg, Florida and formerly of Oliver Springs, died at home on the 27th day of June, 2003 after an extended and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Oak Ridge, she earned a B.S. in Biology at the University of Tennessee before moving to St. Petersburg in 1982 to enter graduate school. She earned a M.S. in Marine Science Geology at the University of South Florida Marine Science Department in St. Petersburg. Jennifer worked as a respected professional geologist and environmental consultant in the Tampa Bay area for the last 16 years, most recently for Leggett, Brashears and Graham in Tampa. She loved her family, friends, and colleagues, the outdoors and her chosen profession. Despite the challenges she faced from cancer in recent years, she continued to enjoy the people and pursuits she loved with strength and grace, always looking to the future until the end. Survivors: husband, Steven Walker of St. Petersburg; parents, James and Marjorie McNeillie of Oliver Springs; brothers, Mark McNeillie of Oliver Springs, James McNeillie and wife, Sandra of Maryville; nephews, Brannon, Derrick, and Wesley all of Maryville. Jennifer was also survived by her in laws and other relatives throughout the U.S. and Canada. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, an Army veteran and a member of Beaver Ridge Masonic Lodge #366 F&AM, retired from Y-12 formerly of Martin Marietta, after 35 years of service. Preceded in death by father, Willie Minge; sons, Earl Minge and Bruce Sipe. She was born July 4, 1913 in Anderson Co. and worked for several years in the Standard Knitting Mill. Anna was a member of City View Baptist Church where she and her husband sang in the choir for many years and where she had many friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Powell; parents, Sam and Ella Brock; sisters, Lola Giles, Elizabeth Grubb and Georgia Tipton; and her brother, Sam Brock, Jr. Her survivors include, sisters, Ruby Ward and Ruth Queener both of Clinton; several nieces and nephews; a special brother in law, Thomas Powell and his wife, Holly; and a special friend, Rosemary Carr. KAY - of the Piney Community of Oakdale, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2003 after a long battle with cancer. Kay was a 1974 graduate with honors of Chattanooga's Baroness Erlanger School of Nursing. She worked as a certified psychiatric nurse at Moccasin Bend Hospital in Chattanooga. She also worked as nursing supervisor of Ridgeview Clinic in Oak Ridge and nursing supervisor of Superior Home Health in Morgan County. She was a lifelong member of Piney Baptist Church. Kay loved spending time with young people, especially her nieces and nephews. At Piney, she at one time worked with the Acteens. She was a dedicated UT football fan, loved reading, watching Jeopardy and working crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence E. Langley; grandparents, Edgar and Dora Eble Langley and Rev. Mark and Delta Mayton Scarbrough, all of Oakdale. She is survived by her mother, Jacqueline Scarbrough Langley; sister and brother-in-law, Frieda and Bob Bennett; brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Debbie Langley, all of Oakdale; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Steve McBay of Harriman. In addition, she leaves behind her very special nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, special cousins, and many dear friends at Piney and at work. Kay fought her illness valiantly, therefore the family wishes to extend special thanks to all the doctors and nurses who attended to he r during her sickness, especially the staff at Lifecare Center of Morgan County who ministered to her at the end of her struggle. She will lie in state at Piney Baptist Church on Monday, June 30, 2003 from 12-1:00 pm. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Pat McGee officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church immediately following the graveside service. CROOK, BETTIE LEE MASON - 53, died June 29, 2003 at St. Mary's Hospital of Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, due to complications of scleroderma. Bettie Lee was born June 23, 1950, grew up in Gallatin, Tenn. and resided in Oak Ridge, Tenn. Bettie Lee was always involved in community service and helping others. In Oak Ridge she was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Parent Teacher Student Organization, and the Lady Soccer Cats Booster Club. She was a Girl Scout Leader and substitute teacher of the Oak Ridge School System. As a mother and wife, Bettie Lee was the quintessential "soccer Mom"; by day, driving kids to sporting events, dance class, violin lessons and by night making dinner, reviewing homework and helping with class projects. Many Oak Ridge children and young adults related to Bettie Lee as a "second Mom". She loved them all. In Oak Ridge, she is survived by her husband, James E. Crook, MD; two daughters, Sudan Bailey Crook (18) and Sarah Mason Crook (15). She is also survived by her mother, Katherine Brown Mason; a brother, Houston Mason; and a sister, Suzanne Mason Glasgow, all of whom reside in Gallatin, Tenn. She is preceded in death by her father, Abram C. Mason, DDS. Bettie Lee had been seriously ill for the past year and the family wishes to thank everyone in Oak Ridge for the prayers, calls, visits, food, flowers, cards, gifts, help with transportation of children and emotional support. We thank the Koininia Sunday school class and members of the First United Methodist Church, Girl Scout Troop 200, Lady Wildcat Soccer families and many friends for a year of delicious meals. JONES, ROSIE LEE "DEAR" - 75, (June 19, 1928 - July 2, 2003) departed Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at the Methodist Medical Center after an extended illness. She married Isaiah Jones in 1943 and they moved to Oak Ridge in 1945. To this union, seven children were born.Preceded in death by a grandson. In addition to her husband of 59 years, she is survived by: 3 sons - Eddie Lee Jones of Knoxville, Robert Lewis Jones and Richard Lewis Jones, both of Oak Ridge; 4 daughters, Mary J. Booker and Dorothy Mae Jones, both of Oak Ridge, Ruby J. Henderson and her husband Renfro of Knoxville and Pearley J. Atwater and her husband Herman of Powel; brother, Eddie Lee Whitley of Birmingham, AL; sisters, Olivia Taylor Tuscaloosa, AL and, Susie Mae Flowers of Uniontown, AL; brother-in-law, Alfred Jones of Demopolis, AL; sisters-in-law, Eliza Winters of Knoxville and Jannie Mae Dowdell of Akron, OH; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.Special friends were Greg Dunnorm, Barbara Turner, Ruth Graham and Katie Strickland. (WILLIE) - age 84 of Lake City, passed away Friday July 4, 2003 at the Lake City Health Care Center. He was born June 20, 1919 in Hamblen County, Tenn. He was a longtime member of Clear Branch Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was also a member of the Coal Creek Lodge #492, and a member of the Operating Engineer Local 900. He retired from Union Carbide where he was a Process Operator. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jasper James & Flora Mae Fox; brothers, Rufus Fox and John Fox; sisters, Vina Vowell, Margaret Fox and Mary Foust. Survivors: loving wife of 47 years, Irene S. Fox, Lake City; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
