Milly, Some names don't always come up in the Social Security Index. I have to put the whole number in myself to get my dad's to come up. And a friend of mine has his grandfather's (been deceased for years) card. We put the number in and it still won't come up. So, I figure that doesn't necessarily mean someone didn't have one. Mary
Mary and All: It is my understanding it only is in there if a Death Benefit was drawn. Has anyone else heard this? However, the L.D.S. church research services can send off for the original S.S. application I believe.
