>From The Knoxville News Sentinel 30 Jul 2003 MARY GRACE SCARBROUGH, age 92, a South Clinton resident, passed away Monday, July 28, 2003 at the Windwood Healthcare Center in Clinton. Prior to declining health she attended South Clinton Baptist Church and enjoyed her Golden Ages Sunday school class. She was a former knitter for Magnet Hosiery Mills and a wonderful mother. Preceded in death by first husband, Marshal Maples, Sr.; second husband, Sawyer Scarbrough; sons, Austin "Easy" Maples & John Scarbrough; parents, Samuel & Laura Brummett Huckaby; siblings & their spouses. Mrs. Scarbrough was born September 5, 1910 in Anderson County. Survivors: daughter, Kathy Bell & husband, Paul of Powell; sons, Dorman Scarbrough of Andersonville, Marshall "M.L." Maples & Kenneth Maples of Knoxville; a host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren and step-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews; brother-in-law, Earl Scarbrough & wife, Helen of Clinton, Nancy Wallace & Christine Sowders were considered very special friends. The family will receive friends 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 31, 2003 at Holley- Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with funeral service following at 2:00 pm, in the chapel with Chaplain Clay Mulford officiating. Interment will follow the service at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her friends & family of Windwood Health Care Center.
