    2. >From The Knoxville News Sentinel 12 Jul 2003 JACKSON, ERNEST ONLEY - age 100, JOHNSON, CARL SMITH - age 57 of Jacksboro, REED, BETTY JUNE - 74 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ JACKSON, ERNEST ONLEY - age 100, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Mr. Jackson was retired from Union Carbide in Oak Ridge. He was a member of Star of Hope Assembly of God Church but has been faithful in attendance for several years at Dante Church of God sharing the gospel through song and loved the fellowship with church family and friends. Preceded in death by wife, Rena M. Jackson; brother, Ordus Jackson and Emory Jackson; sister, Dellar Lindsay, and beloved grandson, Kenneth Jackson. Survivors: special granddaughter, Jean Martin and husband, Charles; three sons, William C. (Bill) Jackson and wife, Alline of Louisville, Ky., James (Jimmy) Lindsay and wife, Ruby of Heiskell and Bobby N. Jackson of Powell; daughter, Imogene Chesher and husband, Thomas; and sister in law, Louise Huff of Powell; many nieces and nephews a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren; special friends, Opal Walker and Zora Humphrey also survive. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 12, 2003 at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Weaver Funeral Home with Reverends David Snyder and David Hickson officiating. The family will receive friends in the chapel from 6-8 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be Sunday, July 13, 2003 at Bethel- Lynch Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Weaver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. JOHNSON, CARL SMITH - age 57 of Jacksboro, passed away Thursday, July 10, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, Knoxville. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church, Holyoke, Mass. Mr. Johnson was Plant Supervisor of a paper plant. Survivors: wife, Christine Johnson, Jacksboro; sons, Keith Johnson, Charleston, SC, Brian Johnson, Springfield, Mass., Erin Duchesne, Springfield, Mass.; daughters, Melissa Patton, Marion, Ark., Melinda Singetary, Charleston, SC; parents, Frank and Pauline Johnson, LaFollette; 8 grandchildren; sisters, Kathy Brousseau, LaFollette, Carol Cote, Lakeland, Fla., Sue McNabb, Holyoke, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 10 a.m. Monday, July 14, at Cedar Creek Baptist Church, Pastor Thorpe and Rev. Leroy Braden officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday July 13, Cross Funeral Home. Interment will be in Chadwell Cemetery, Monday after the funeral. Arrangements by Cross Funeral Home. REED, BETTY JUNE - 74, of Oak Ridge, died Friday, July 11, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born May 14, 1929, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Millard Barker and Velma Edwards Barker, both now deceased. She was a member of Kern Memorial United Memorial Methodist Church. Mrs. Reed was a secretary for Oak Ridge Schools. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Reed in 1993. Survivors include a son, Harold Craig Reed of Oak Ridge, and his wife, Alice. The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2003, at Kern Memorial United Memorial Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Flynn and Rev. Walter Willis officiating. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 14, 2003 at 11:00 am at Carr's Chapel Cemetery in Speedwell, Tennessee. Memorials may be made to Helping Hands Ministry, Kern United Memorial Methodist Church, 451 E. Tennessee Avenue, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. The family will receive friends following the service at the church on Sunday.
