REBA JONES - age 78, of Jacksboro, JOHNSON, BYRON TRENT, SR. - age 77, of Clinton, Tenn. ============================================ CLAIBORNE, MRS. REBA JONES - age 78, of Jacksboro, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2003, at St. Mary's Residential Hospice. Mrs. Claiborne was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Claiborne, by her parents, Toy and Lula Jones, and by her brothers, J. T. and Ray Jones of Sparta, Tennessee. Mrs. Claiborne attended Tennessee Tech and worked during World War II for Clinton Engineering in Oak Ridge, before her marriage and move to LaFollette. She was a member of LaFollette First Baptist Church. Mrs. Claiborne will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving and generous mother and grandmother, and a thoughtful Christian. The family would like to acknowledge their deep and abiding affection for brother-in-law, John H. Claiborne and wife, Lucille for their many years of devoted friendship and assistance. The family would also like to thank Dr. Wahid Hanna, Dr. Judith Kinzy, and the special staff of the sixth floor of the U. T. Hospital for their vigilant efforts and compassionate care. The family especially appreciates the gentle and attentive treatment provided by the wonderful staff of St. Mary's Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests, memorial contributions to St. Mary's Residential Hospice, 7447 Andersonville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37938. Survivors include son, William F. Claiborne, Jr. of Jacksboro; daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha and Larry Wilson of Austin, Texas, Kathy and Tim Lipps of LaFollette, Carol and Dale Cowart of Jacksboro; grandchildren, Matthew and Molly Cowart of Jacksboro, and Sean and Michael Lipps of LaFollette, and sister, Ann Stewart of Hendersonville, Tenn. Funeral services for Mrs. Reba Jones Claiborne will be Tuesday, 4 p.m. at Walter's Chapel with Rev. Lane Harris officiating. The family of Mrs. Reba Jones Claiborne will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Tuesday before funeral services at Walter's Funeral Home. JOHNSON, BYRON TRENT, SR. - age 77, of Clinton, Tenn., passed away Saturday, July 12, 2003, at St. Mary's Medical Center. Member of Clinton Second Baptist Church, Veteran of U. S. Navy and U. S. Air Force, during World War II. At age 18, Mr. Johnson was a Kamikaze Survivor as a Gunner on the USS Engram DDS694 in the South Pacific, during World War II. Retired also as an instrument technician with T.V.A. Member of Clinton V.F.W. Preceded in death by his parents, Henry Sherman and Corrina Wallace Johnson; brothers, Sherman Johnson, Carl Lee Johnson, George W. Johnson, and Roy Paul Johnson. Survivors: wife, Muriel Engle Johnson of Clinton, Tenn.; daughter, Linda and Curtis Lane of Powell, Tenn.; sons, Byron, Jr. and Brenda Johnson of Aurora, Colorado, James Dee and Nancy Johnson of Yukon, Oklahoma, Andrew B. and Diane Johnson of Birmingham, Ala; grandchildren, Christopher Todd and Barbara Lane, Amy Noel and Mark Germano, Kendall Muriel Johnson, Byron Johnson III, Jo Dee and Rodofo Molina, Mindy Johnson, Rebecca Johsnon, Drew Patrick Johnson, and Kathryn Elizabeth Johnson; great- grandchildren, Hunter and Oliver Lane; brother, Ronald and Hedda Johnson of Andersonville, Tenn.; aunts, Beth Robbins of Clinton, Tenn., Mary Splittgerber of Norris, Tenn.; cousin, Vivian and Gene Clark of Dandridge, Tenn., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services 8:00 p.m. Monday, Holley-gamble Chapel, Rev. Gary Swaggerty and Rev. Mike thompson officiating. Interment will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Grandview Memorial Garden with Full Military Honrs at graveside.
