(BOB) - age 64 of Jacksboro, formerly of Oak Ridge, ======================================= AKINS, ROBERT (TUBBY) - age 55 of LaFollette, passed away Thursday, July 9, at St. Mary's of Campbell County. He was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by father, Thurman Akins; sister, Martha Wilson; brother, David Akins and grandparents. Survivors: wife, Brenda Polston Akins, LaFollette; mother, Willie Akins Mell, LaFollette; brothers, Andrew Akins, Knoxville, Charlie Akins, Virginia, James Mell, Blount County; sister, Hilda Ausmus, Speedwell. Funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday July 12 at Cross Funeral Home, Rev. Bill Braden and Elder Doyle Ausmus officiating. Interment Glade Springs Cemetery. DAUGHERTY, CARRIE J. - age 70 of 230 Lake Road, Caryville, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2003, Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was a member of the Vasper Baptist Church. Mrs. Daugherty enjoyed reading and sports. She was preceded in death by son, Lonnie Monroe Daugherty; parents, Lawrence and Zora Daugherty Goodman. Mrs. Daugherty is survived by husband of 54 years, Homer Daugherty of Caryville; grandchildren, Nina Daugherty Holloway of Garden City, Mich., and Justin Daugherty of Belleville, Mich.; brothers and sisters, Pauline Shown and Paul Goodman, both of Jacksboro, Irene Goodman and Archie Goodman, both of LaFollette, Harold Goodman of Vasper, Violet Terrell of Rockholds, Ky., and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Friday, July 11, in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Gillum and Rev. Bobby Ray Wilson officiating. Interment will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Cumberland View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday before funeral services. Martin Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. EXUM, JOYCE LYNN - age 51, of Oak Ridge, died Wednesday, July 9, 2003. Survivors: daughter, Gennevieve "Gena" Murphy and husband, Patrick of McDonough, Ga.; sons, Matthew John Olson of Putnam Valley, New York, and Aaron Michael Olson of Boston, Mass.; former husband, Benjamin Olson of Putnam Valley, New York; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Leigh Murphy; mother, Ann Inman Exum of Knoxville; brothers, Jeffrey Scott Exum of Escondido, Calif., and Riley Hall Exum and wife, Debbie of Sweetwater; sister, Jennifer Ann MacKenzie and husband, Charles Stephen of Fairfield, Conn., nieces and nephews, Andrew Exum, Joseph Exum, Ashley Exum, Annie MacKenzie, and Megan MacKenzie; special friend, Randy Freels. Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Cathedral with the Rev. Canon Thomas J. Rasnick officiating. Interment following at Pleasant Forest Cemetery, Concord. JACKSON, ERNEST ONLEY - age 100, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Mr. Jackson was retired from Union Carbide in Oak Ridge. He was a member of Star of Hope Assembly of God Church but has been faithful in attendance for several years at Dante Church of God sharing the gospel through song and loved the fellowship with church family and friends. Preceded in death by wife, Rena M. Jackson; brother, Ordus Jackson and Emory Jackson; sister, Dellar Lindsay, and beloved grandson, Kenneth Jackson. Survivors: special granddaughter, Jean Martin and husband, Charles; three sons, William C. (Bill) Jackson and wife, Alline of Louisville, Ky., James (Jimmy) Lindsay and wife, Ruby of Heiskell and Bobby N. Jackson of Powell; daughter, Imogene Chesher and husband, Thomas; and sister in law, Louise Huff of Powell; many nieces and nephews a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren; special friends, Opal Walker and Zora Humphrey also survive. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 12, 2003 at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Weaver Funeral Home with Reverends David Snyder and David Hickson officiating. The family will receive friends in the chapel from 6-8 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be Sunday, July 13, 2003 at Bethel- Lynch Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Weaver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. KENNEDY, STANLEY "STEVE" - age 70, of Briceville, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2003. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2003, with funeral service to follow in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel. Interment 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2003, at the Grave Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Hatmaker Funeral Home, of Lake City, in charge of arrangements. McCULLEY, ROBERT L. (BOB) - age 64 of Jacksboro, formerly of Oak Ridge, passed away Wednesday, July 9, at St. Mary's of Campbell County. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Oak Ridge. He was retired after 20 years from the US Air Force and then worked as an Insurance Agent. He loved wood working. Preceded in death by parents, Pat and Lillie Dail McCulley and brother, Carl (Buck) McCulley. Survivors: sons, Wayne and Mike McCulley, both of Simpsonville, SC; daughters, Susan Hope Holiday, Greer, SC, Melaine McCulley, Dayton, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; brothers and wives, Kenneth and Gladys McCulley, LaFollette, Burl and Jean McCulley, Caryville; sister, Ann McCulley Smith, Jacksboro; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Charles Kite, Powell, Nervell and Sue Adkins, Jacksboro, Sherri Smith, Oak Ridge; 2 precious dogs, Fluffy and Belle.
