Retired / Martin Marietta Energy Systems/K25. Member of Truelight Missionary Baptist Church. Survived by husband, Wesley S. Howard III of Oak Ridge; son, Wesley S. Howard IV and his wife, Dorothy of Memphis; daughter, Phyllis Buis Harshaw and her husband, Robert of Alcoa; parents, Lamar and Rene Martin Hall; brothers, Edward L. Martin and Michael H. Martin, and sisters, Connie B. Maddox, all of Oak Ridge, and Diane B. Ely of Nashville, and six grandchildren. Funeral services are Thursday, September 25, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. at Truelight Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Darius Waters officiating. Burial will follow at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge. Preceded in death by paternal parents, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Eschman; adoptive parents, Walter & Marion Dozier; half-brother, John Dozier. She had just completed her 16th year of employment at Pellissippi State Community College. Survivors: Fiancée, Gary Peters; daughter, Mary Ann Payne; son, Shannon Payne; sisters, Sharon Lue Collins, Carol Smith; brothers, Robert Dozier, Michael Patrick Eschman; several grandchildren; and favorite great niece, Courtney Collins; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday with funeral services to follow at 8:00 p.m. at the Ailor chapel with Rev. Jimmy Davidson officiating. HARDIN, MERTHA EVELYN McCUTCHEON - age 94, of Clinton, passed away Monday September 22, 2003 at Shannondale Health Care Center. She was a member of First Church of God in Knoxville. Preceded in death by parents, W.O. McCutcheon and Lillian Grantland; husband, W.D. Hardin; son, William "Bill" Hardin. She was born December 21, 1908 in Morgan County, Alabama. Survivors: daughter, Dorothy Sharp and husband, James, of Knoxville; daughter-in-law, Johnny Hardin Freeman of Claxton; grandchildren, Pat and Maurice Dunn of Granite Bay, CA, Mark Sharp of Chicago, Ill, Billy Von and Tim Powers of Claxton, Dillis Freeman, Jr. of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Alex and Nick Dunn and John Paul and Grace Power; several nieces and nephews. Jones; daughter, Jimmie (Xavier) Jones of Knoxville; grandchildren, Xcia Jones, Dasia, Alana, and J. R. Jones, all of Knoxville; brothers, Kenneth L.
