>From The Knoxville News Sentinel 18 Sep 2003 MONROE, JESSIE MAE "BOBBIE" - age 61, of Claxton, crossed from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Tuesday evening, September 16, 2003, at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was welcomed into her heavenly home by her son, Richard Eugene Monroe; father, James A. Henderson; sister, Mary Lou Henderson; brother, Leroy "Pete" Jones; devoted nephew, James Hubbs; father-in-law, Johnny French. She was a 49 year member of Riverview Baptist Church in Claxton. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Bobbie Monroe retired from Winn Dixie Stores, as a department manager with many years of service. She was born August 8, 1942, to James and Elsie Henderson of Claxton. Survivors left to celebrate her life are her devoted husband and sweetheart of 39 years, David Monroe of Claxton; daughter, Melissa Stogsdill and husband, Richard of Caryville; son, James Monroe, III and wife, Kristina of Knoxville; grandchildren, Matthew Stogsdill, Grant Monroe, Madison Stogsdill; mother, Elsie Henderson of Claxton; brother, Billy Joe Henderson and wife, Cathy of Powell; sisters, Beatrice Shelton and husband, Frank of Clinton, Wilma Steverson and husband, Steve of Lafayette, Ga., Wanda McCown and husband, Michael of Knoxville, Pauline Sherrod and husband, Dale of Knoxville, Debra Roop and husband, Rick of Claxton; mother-in-law, Louise French of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Libby Hensley and husband, Sam of Knoxville, and several devoted nephews and nieces. Special friends, Rose Jones and Jenny Peters of Knoxville, along with a host of many friends and acquaintances. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 19, 2003, at Riverview Baptist Church in Claxton, with a celebration of life service following at 8:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Don Hensley officiating. Interment will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the church cemetery. Nephews will be serving as pallbearers.
