Frfom The Knoxville News Sentinel 17 Sep 2003 RENFROW, JOHN JOSEPH 'JOEY' RAY - age 11, of Oak Ridge and formerly of Knoxville, died Saturday, September 13, 2003 at his home. He was an avid participant of the Jim Abbott League Baseball team and UT's Camp Koinonia. He is survived by: his mother and step-father, Shanna Renfrow- Richard and Dennis Richard of Oak Ridge; step-brother, Jeremy Richard and step-sister, Carrie Richard, both of Lenoir City; grandparents, Bonnie Veach of Oak Ridge, John and Charleen Fisher of Orient, OH and Dianne and Dan Whitaker of Sequim, WA; and his best friend, Jon Blalock of Knoxville. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2003 at 6:00pm at Weatherford Mortuary with Rev. J. Stephen Misenheimer officiating. The family asks that any memorials be in the form of contributions, designated for the Joey Renfrow Memorial Fund, to the University of Tennessee, UT Gift Records, P2 Andy Holt Tower, Knoxville, TN 37966-0108 or to the Jim Abbott Baseball League.
