Bell, 79, of Norris, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. His family said he was a beloved father, grandfather and brother. According to his family, those who knew him well will remember him as a supporter of the community whose generosity reached many individuals and organizations. His family said he leaves a legacy of designing and building for church, family and friends. After retiring from the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant, Mr. Bell became a gourmet cook who, his family said, shared love and laughter at the table. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen B. Bell; his parents; and by several brothers and sisters. Mr. Bell is survived by two daughters, Deborah B. Wilson, and husband, Tom, of Chantilly, Va., and Diane B. Muse, and husband, Mike, of Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren, Eric Wilson, Brian Wilson and Meredith Wilson; a sister, Jeanne Stokes, and husband, Tom, of Bristol, Va.; and by several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, at Norris Memorial Gardens. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of contributions to the Children's Program, c/o M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, 1515 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030. William Kenneth "Ken" Fox, 73, of Clinton and the Claxton community, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born March 8, 1930, in Hazard, Ky., he was the son of William Andrew Fox Sr. and Minnie Ellington Fox. Mr. Fox was a member of Raccoon Valley Church of God and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William Andrew Fox Jr.; a sister, Gearldine Stanford; three stepsons, Mark Lightfoot, Owen Lightfoot and Rod Lightfoot; and by two grandchildren. Mr. Fox is survived by his wife, Frances Johnson Fox; two sons, Wesley Fox, and Darryl Fox, and wife, Cynthia, all of North Carolina; five daughters, Ginny Walters, Ramona Edwards, and husband, Troy, of North Carolina, Theresa Croft, and husband, Bobby, of Florida, Kathy Rutherford of Knoxville, and Robin Nuckles, and husband, Jeff, of LaFollette; and by a stepdaughter, Tina Baumgardner, and husband, John, of Michigan. He is also survived by six brothers, Glen Fox, Billy Fox, Hugh Fox, Bobby Fox, the Rev. Don Fox and Johnny Fox; four sisters, Wilma Rains, Jean Armstrong, Myrtle Moretz and Pat Garner; 30 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and by several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003, at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Fox officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at Cox View Cemetery in the Karns community. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. August Joseph "Gus" Legeay, 81, of Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of Paducah, Ky., and Oak Ridge, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, in Indianapolis. Mr. Legeay was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and was a retired production manager of the Oak Ridge K-25 site. He was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Indianapolis and was a fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He was also a Kentucky Colonel. Mr. Legeay is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marion Riley Legeay; three sons, Michael Legeay of Fort Mitchell, Ky., Gus Legeay Jr. of Indianapolis and Stephen Legeay of Asheville, N.C.; and by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, at St. Francis DeSales Church in Paducah with the Rev. Larry McBride officiating. Burial will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Paducah. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 2200 Sutherland Ave., Knoxville, TN 37919, or to a hospice of the donor's choice. Dennis Franklin Eaves, 54, of Athens, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003, at Athens Regional Medical Center. A lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was the son of Frank and Carrie Scroggs Eaves, both now deceased. Mr. Eaves was a graduate of McMinn County High School and the University of Tennessee. He was a member of North Athens Baptist Church and the Meridian Sun Lodge No. 50 F&AM, and he served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Eaves was associated with Bowater as an industrial engineer for 29 years. Mr. Eaves is survived by his wife, Dale Partain Eaves; two daughters, Patrinka Fernandez, and husband, Juan, and English Lacey Eaves, all of Athens; a sister, Barbara White and husband, Bob, of Oak Ridge; a sister-in-law, Judy P. Wilson, of Athens; and by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Floyd and Sue Partain, of Athens. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, at McMinn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Bob Kerr officiating. Lynn Spears, Ed Walden, Rudy Partain, Harry Partain, Bryan Spears, Kenny Wilson, Larry Partain and Jon Benke, will serve as pallbearers. Co-workers at Bowater will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Jerry Smith Funeral Home in Athens. Eunice Faye Buis-Howard, 54, of Oak Ridge, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, after a brief illness. She was a heart transplant survivor of 13 years. Mrs. Howard was vice-president of the Knoxville area American Heart Association and was a volunteer at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was active in the Reading for Illiteracy program and had recorded numerous recordings for the blind. According to her family, she was also an inspirational speaker, visiting various schools and educating others on the importance of organ donation. She was retired from the Oak Ridge K-25 site and a member of Truelight Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Martin. Mrs. Howard is survived by her husband, Wesley S. Howard III; her daughter, Phyllis Harshaw, and husband, Robert, of Alcoa; her son, Wesley S. Howard IV, and wife, Dorothy, of Memphis; and by her parents, Lamar and Rene Martin Hall, of Oak Ridge. She is also survived by two brothers, Edward L. Martin and Michael H. Martin, both of Oak Ridge; two sisters, Connie Buis Maddox, with Jeff Hampton, of Oak Ridge, and Diane Buis Ely of Nashville; six grandchildren, Brittany Buis and Kyntrel Harshaw, both of Rockford, and Loren Howard, Jada Howard, Wesley Howard V and Summer Howard, all of Memphis; two sisters-in-law, Betty Handy and Carolyn Caldwell; four nieces, Tina Ard, Whitney Martin, Jazmyne Maddox and Da'Nae Caldwell; and by four nephews, Eric Martin, Travis Maddox with Tonya Newcomb, Calvin Maddox II and J.T. Ely. Sharon Mix, Joyce Martin, Phyllis Moore and Ray Maddox are considered special friends. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, at Truelight Missionary Baptist Church off Pellissippi Parkway in the Solway community with the Rev. Darius Waters officiating. Burial will follow at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church.
