MARGARET J. - age 74, of LaFollette FIELDS, ELIZABETH LIZ - age 89, JONES, FRANKIE MAE QUEENER - age 96, a resident of Coalfield, SHIELDS, VIOLET NELSON - age 85, ============================================ CHAPMAN, MRS. MARGARET J. - age 74, of LaFollette, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2003, at Morristown- Hamblen Hospital in Morristown. She was a member of the LaFollette First Baptist Church, and former employee of Imperial Reading Corporation, LaFollette Hospital, Camel Manufacturing and Mountain View Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Chapman; parents, Levi Huckaby and Etta M. McKinney, and by sisters, Jimmie Ogg, Glenna Raburn and Jo Byrge. Survivors: children, Peggy Chapman Anderson and husband, Ken of Knoxville, Paul S. Chapman and wife, Jawanna of Morristown, and Nancy Chapman Ownby of Corbin, Ky.; five grandchildren, Paul Chapman, Aaron Chapman, Amanda Ownby, Tyler Anderson and Nikki Anderson; sisters, Judy Hill of LaFollette, Bobbie Coffey of Tazewell, Georgie Ann Mefford and Linda Price of LaFollette; brothers, Charles Silcox of Urbana, Illinois, James Silcox and Paul F. Silcox, both of LaFollette, and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services Monday, 8 p.m. at Walters Chapel with Rev. Jim Wilcox officiating. Family and friends will meet Tuesday, 9:30 a.m., at Walters Funeral Home and proceed to Woodlawn Cemetery for graveside services and interment. FIELDS, ELIZABETH LIZ - age 89, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. Member of Bishopville Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Delmas W. Fields and her parents, Martin and Martha Duncan, and son, William Vent Reynolds. Survivors: daughter, Barbara and husband, Fred Jr. Dixon of Heiskell, Tenn.; grandchildren, Fred Lee Dixon of Heiskell, Tenn., Kathy and husband, Tony Jett of Heiskell, Tenn., Jennifer and husband, Fredrick Johnson of Heiskell, Tenn., Billy and wife, Hilda Reynolds of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; great- grandchildren, Matthew Jett, Becky Jett, Courtney Smallwood, Casey Johnson, Candy Johnson, and Phillip and wife, Nikki Johnson; great-great grandson, Gabriel Johnson; daughter-in- law, Nancy Reynolds of Halls Crossroads in Knoxville; sisters, Cory, Ellie, and Loraine, and several nieces and nephews. and friends. JONES, FRANKIE MAE QUEENER - age 96, a resident of Coalfield, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died Saturday afternoon, September 13, 2003, in Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Daughter of Henderson and Margaret Queener. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Guy W. Jones, Sr., and sons, Guy W. Jones, Jr., and Jerry Jones; daughter, Joyce W. Jones Cox; infant children, Paul Gene Jones and Joanne Jones, and by brothers, Jim and Roy Queener. Survivors: son, Joe V. Jones and wife, Judy of Rockwood; daughters, June Hudson and husband, James of Coalfield, Janice Hale and husband, Harry of Coalfield, Jeanette Babb and husband, James of Coalfield, Judy Slack and husband, Charles of Coalfield, and Jackie Maston and husband, Dwight of Coalfied; son-in-law, Johnny C. Cox of Coalfield; daughters-in-law, Gladys Jones of Coalfield, Alma Jones of Coalfield, and Peggy Jones of Coalfield; sisters, Geraldine Hines of Coalfield and Jenny Henderson of LaFollette; grandchildren, Barry Jones, Mick Jones, Jerry Lee Jones, John Cox, James G. Hudson, Jeffrey Cox, Paul Hudson, Bradley Jones, Jamie B. Jones, Marty and Andrew Maston, Melissa Newberry, Renee Davis, Elizabeth Roberts, Cynthia Snow and Stacie Hickman; 19 great-grandchildren. She was also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 15, 2003, at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home with Rev. Mack Smith officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. Burial and graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. at Estes Cemetery of Coalfield. Sharp Funeral Home, is in charge of the arrangements. SHIELDS, VIOLET NELSON - age 85, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 14, 2003. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorris Key Shields, August 11, 1973, and her parents, Henry and Myrtle Nelson. Mrs. Shields was a member of Poplar Creek Baptist Church, where in the past she had been active in many functions. She loved to garden and care for her flowers, but her favorite thing was to be with her family. She loved attending all the activities they were in and encouraging them on. Loved ones that she left behind are one daughter, Sue and her husband, Roger Toler of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Doris ViLeah Toler, residing in Marlow Community, Roger Toler and his wife, Melanie, residing in Powell, Kimberly Toler Hooks and her husband, Bryan Hooks residing in Karns, Tenn.; four great-grandchildren, Reese and Raegan Hooks and Eva and Nelson Toler. She is also survive by Helen Compton, Dick and Margaret Reed and Mary Kay Edwards, whom she loved as sisters and brother. She had two sisters-in-law, Wanda Cooper of Pineville, W. Va.; Hilda McClellan and her husband, Fred of Columbus, Ohio, and one brother-in-law, Robert Phillips of Florida; four step children, Sonny Shields, Mary Lee Hatfield, (deceased), Norman Shields and Sandy Shields, and five step grandchildren. Funeral services 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2003, Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, Rev. Bill Dawson officiating. Interment will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
