Hatfield Vickery, 80, Caryville, John Lee West, 64, White Oak, Juanita Wright, 83, Lake City, ============================================ Trula Douglas Adkins, 90, Sidney, OH, formerly of Campbell County, died Sunday, August 31, 2003 in Ohio. She was born in Newcomb to her parents, Lewis and Myrtle Arnett Douglas. She was married to Roy Adkins Sept. 11, 1933 who died on October 21, 1948. She was of the Methodist Faith. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sons, Billy Joe Adkins, Bobby Lee Adkins; sister, Reba Douglas Lough and brother, Oscar Paul Douglas. Trula is survived by her four daughters, Mrs. John (Faye) Chesser, Jacksonville, FL, Mrs. Fred (Carolyn) Jordan, Caryville, Mrs. Herman (Wanda) Wiessingers, and Mrs. Gary (Anita) Reish, both of Sidney, brother, James E. Douglas, Jacksboro; 15 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Friday, Sept. 5 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with John Needy officiating. Interment was in the Campbell Memorial Gardens. Martin Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Doris Reba Baird, 67, Tazewell, born August 15, 1936, died, Sunday, August 31, 2003 at her home. She was a member of the Blair's Creek Baptist Church. A former member of the Indiana Ave. Baptist Church of LaFollette and Dogwood Heights Baptist Church of Tazewell. She was a homemaker, she enjoyed her flowers and her family and children and elderly people. Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh Edgar and Mossie (Wilson) Bolinger. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, James Oba Baird; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Mary Jo Baird; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Jim Lane, all of Tazewell; grandchildren, Chance Baird and wife Stacie, Wesley Baird and wife Kristi, Danielle Lane and William Lane, all of Tazewell; great-grandchildren, Chelsea and Damon Baird; brothers, Carson Bolinger and wife Edith, Shields Bolinger and wife Geneva, all of LaFollette, Howard Bolinger, Dacula, GA.; sisters, Vonette Russell, LaFollette, Mary Ann Barker, Ada, OK., Shirley Newport, Orlando, FL. and a host of other nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. The family received friends Tuesday, September 3 with funeral services following in the Claiborne Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Cecil Fultz and Bob Carroll officiating. Music was provided by Barbara Hatfield. Graveside services were Wednesday, September 2 in the Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chance Baird, Wesley Baird, William Lane, Eddie Ray Hurst, Rev. Travis Chumley and Jerry Chumley. Claiborne Funeral home was in charge of the arrangements. Vaughn Lisenbee Beach, 86, Briceville, died Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at the residence of her granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Millard Lisenbee and Charles Beach; daughter, Wanda Marie Lisenbee; parents, Noah and Eva Harness; sister, Josephine Vandergriff and brother, Mose Harness. Vaughn is survived by her daughter, Loretta Seiber and husband, R. C., Briceville; grandchildren, Debbie Goans and husband, Joe, Briceville, Tracy Rutherford, Clinton, Sandra Green and husband, Kevin, Briceville; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jessica and Joel Goans, Cody and Kendra Rutherford, Adrian Burum and Devin Green; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Burrell, 54, LaFollette, died Monday, September 8, 2003 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gertrude Davis Paul; brothers, Charlie and Silas Paul; sisters, Betsy Rucker, Louise Hamilton and Alzee Paul. Mrs. Burrell is survived by her husband, Terry Burrell, LaFollette; son, James Burrell, Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Ternia and Frankie Hatmaker; grandchildren, Brandon, Cory, and Hunter Hatmaker, all of LaFollette, Tyler Burrell, Lake City; brother, Jessel Paul; sister, Opal Gibson, both of LaFollette and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Wednesday, September 10 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Reverends LeRoy Braden and Don Reynolds officiating. Georgia Heatherly Fritts, 79, Lake City, died Sunday, September 7, 2003 in Lake City. She was born August 20, 1923 in Campbell County. She is preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Millie Heatherly; husband, Condy Fritts. Georgia is survived by her son, Walter and wife, Betty Fritts; grandson, Jamie Lee Fritts, all of Jacksboro; great-grandsons, Logan and McKinley Fritts; brother, Luther Heatherly Jr.; sister, Mable Whitaker, all of Lake City, Dorothy Foust, Clinton, Geraldine Howard, Lake City; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends. Funeral services were Tuesday, September 9 at Hatmaker Funeral Home with Reverends Charles Harness and Lowell Elkins officiating. Margaret Huckaby, 72, LaFollette, died Monday, September 1, 2003 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. She was a member of the Little Coolidge Baptist Church. Mrs. Huckaby was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Huckaby; son, Dale Poston; granddaughter, Minnie Selma Poston; parents, Charles O. and Minnie Nelson; brother, Elwood Poston. Mrs. Huckaby is survived by her daughter-in-law, Judy Poston, LaFollette; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Martin Poston and Robert Poston; sisters, Mildred Riggs, all of LaFollette, Famah Green, Jacksboro; several nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Violet Huddleston, 79, LaFollette, died Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was a member of the First Independence Baptist Church. Mrs. Huddleston was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed visiting all how cared about her. Violet is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Huddleston; son, James Huddleston; parents, Joe W. and Bessie Parrott May; brothers, Harold and Carl May. Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Miller; two sons, Rev. Gary Fred Miller, both of New Albany, IN., David Miller, Jellico; five granddaughters, Susan Miler, Nashville, Sandy Sampsel and husband Dennis, Bethany Miller, all of New Albany, IN., Amy Lilly, Allison Jones, both of Cincinnati, OH.; one grandson, James Ferguson, Jellico; two great-granddaughters, Amada Mullins and Abbie Lilly; one great-grandson, Andrew Lilly; two sisters, Dorothy Maples and Billie McFarland, all of Cincinnati, OH.; a host of other relatives and friends. Wanda Reynolds Moore, 64, LaFollette, died Sunday, August 31 at St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. She was of the Church of God faith. Wanda is preceded in death by her father, Daniel Reynolds. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tamera and Stanley Bostic; grandchildren, Amanda and Bradley Bostic, all of LaFollette, mother, Anna Ayers Reynolds, LaFollette Nursing Home; brothers, L.C. Reynolds, Norwood, OH., Lonnie Reynolds, Jacksboro, Diance Reynolds, Cincinnati, OH, Gary Reynolds, Norwood, OH.; sister, Brenda Weaver, LaFollette. Pyles, 84, Andersonville, died Wednesday, September 3, 2003 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was a member of the Mount Pleasant Methodist Church and a veteran of World War II. Luther is preceded in death by his parents, John and Bessie (Clear) Pyles. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mable (Sharp) Pyles, Andersonville. Graveside services and interment were Friday, September 5 at Jacksboro Cemetery with Rev. Don Jones officiating. Donnie Wayne Sharp, 54, Fincastle Community, died Sunday, September 7, 2003 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was a member of the Glade Springs Baptist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and an avid gardener and farmer. He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis F. Sharp. Donnie is survived by a special friend, Tina Sidener; sons, Timothy Sharp and wife Rebecca, Ben Sharp and wife Juanita, and Jessie Sharp; mother, Mrs. Joie Sharp; brother, Jerry Sharp, all of Lafollette; three sisters, Glenda Finley, Calhoun, GA., Janet Chapman, Etowah and Julie Anderson, Michigan City, IN.; several other relatives and friends. Services were Wednesday, September 10 at Walters Chapel with Rev. Don Reynolds officiating. Interment was private. Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette was in charge of the arrangements. Jo Dean Strunk, 68, LaFollette, formerly of Oneida, died Friday, August 29 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County in LaFollette. Jo was born in Oneida, May 12, 1935. She was the daughter of Gatchel and Florence Owens. She was a member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church. Jo was preceded in death by her father, Gatchel Owens; two sons, Danny and Daniel Strunk; daughter, Vicki Conly; two brothers, Jr. and Jackie Owens and two great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Earnest Strunk, LaFollette, five children, Jimmy Strunk, Calhoun, GA., Jerry Strunk, Lexington, N.C., Patty McGowen, Indianapolis, IN., Tammy Murphy and Roy Strunk, both of Lexington, N.C.; mother, Florence Bridges Owens, Oneida; brothers and sisters, Ralph Owens, Nashville, Paul Jean Owens, David Owens, Bobby Owens, Kay Botts and Teresa Duncan, all of Oneida; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Monday, September 1 in the Chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Gillium officiating. Music was provided by the Gospel Encouragers and Connetta Wyatt. Hatfield Vickery, 80, Caryville, died Wednesday, September 3, 2003 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother who was loved by all. Gussie was preceded in death by her husband, James Vickery; son, Paul Lawson; parents, Cade and Sarah Terry Hatfield; five brothers; two sisters and four infant brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Lelia Faye Lawson, Caryville; grandchildren, Wade and Beth Lawson, Caryville, Tim and Melanie Lawson, Huntsville; great-grandchildren, Nikolas Lawson; special friend, Lucille Newport and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Friday, September 12 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Reverends Roger Stanley and Asbury Byrd officiating. He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Pauline Money West; sister, Irene West Small; brothers-in-law, Wade Marlowe and Roger Blue; father-in-law, George King. John is survived by his wife, Colleen King West; son, Terry West, White Oak; grandson, Jacob West, Williamsburg; sister, Wanda Marlowe, White Oak, Wilma West, Jacksboro; brothers, Franklin West, Pioneer, Marvin and wife, Emma Gaye West, Oneida; mother-in-law, Beulah King; sister-in-law, LaDena Pittman, White Oak; brothers-in-law, Glenn King, Warrenton, VA., Carl Small; special nephew, Steven Small who has been instrumental in helping with John care and comfort for the past several months, both of White Oak; a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to mention. Private graveside services were held Sunday, September 7 at Odd Fellows Cemetery at White Oak, with Reverends Clarence Teague, Bill Floyd and Herman Money officiating. Llewellyn Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Juanita Wright, 83, daughter of Sherman & Hattie Sharp, Lake City, died, Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003. Juanita was born in Lake City March 6, 1920. Juanita lived a long and colorful life, and will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her four surviving brothers: Jack, Gene, Bobby, and Carl; two sons, Paul and Raymond; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
