Lane, 77 of Orlando, Fla., formerly of Oak Ridge, ========================================= Nannie Ellen Lovingood, 78, of Oak Ridge, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003, at NHC HealthCare of Oak Ridge. Born March 5, 1925, in Trosper, Ky., she was the daughter of Alex and Martha Mills Carter. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold H. Lovingood, on Nov. 16, 1983, and by her son, Jeffery Lovingood. Mrs. Lovingood is survived by three sons, Dennis Lovingood of Nashville, Paul Lovingood of Maryland, and Steve Lovingood and wife, Yofhiko, of Okinawa, Japan; her brother, Alex Carter Jr., of Oak Ridge; her brother-in-law, Delbert Philpot, of Oak Ridge; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a niece, Henrietta Philpot Knapp, of Oak Ridge; and by several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Larry Dipboye officiating. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park with the Rev. Danny Bush officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Mary Irene Myers of Oak Ridge died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born in Potts Camp, Miss., she was the daughter of Marvin Tucker and Salina Taylor Tucker. According to her family, her love and greatest hobby was working in her yard and flowers. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband, John Anthony Myers, in 1993. Mrs. Myers is survived by two sons, John Shumpert of Oak Ridge and Jack Shumpert of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Jeanette Miller of Oak Ridge and Betty Witt of Fairfield Glades; a stepson, Richard Myers of Lexington, Ky.; and by 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. The funeral was Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at Weatherford Mortuary with Cita Strunk and the Rev. Bob Gray officiating. Charles "Carl" Jack Byrd, 80, of Clinton, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at Windwood Health and Rehab Center in Clinton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Mae Byrd, and by a son, Carlos Jack Byrd Jr. Mr. Byrd is survived by a son, Kenneth Byrd and wife, Susan, of Clinton; his granddaughter, Mariah Byrd, of Clinton; and by several nieces, nephews and extended family members. His family said he will be remembered by many friends. A graveside service was Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Clinton with the Rev. Tony McAfee and the Rev. Born Aug. 4, 1911, in Hinton, W.Va., she was the daughter of Rommie Grimmett and Sarah Eliza Deaver Grimmett. In earlier years, Mrs. Edwards worked as a nurses' aide at Oak Ridge Hospital, now known as Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was a member of Robertsville Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William Jackson Edwards. Mrs. Edwards is survived by her husband of 72 years, Pierce S. Edwards; two sons, Jimmy C. Edwards of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Eddie Edwards and wife, Sandy, of Lenoir City; two daughters, Phyllis Jean Edmonds and husband, David, of Oliver Springs and Betty Ann Perry and husband, William, of Cocoa, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Jane Edwards, of Macon, Ga.; and by nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Dr. Lee Morris officiating. A graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Anderson Memorial Gardens on Oliver Springs Highway. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Hattie Victoria Cain Preston, 59, of Clinton, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born July 25, 1944, in Knox County, she was the daughter of Robert and Margaret Cain. Ms. Preston was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She was a programer at Oak Ridge Associated Universities. Ms. Preston is survived by two sons, Sgt. 1st Class Kelvin Cain of Savannah, Ga., and Sean Cain of Clinton; her daughter, Marquetta Cain of Oak Ridge; and by several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members. Her family said she will be remembered by many friends. The funeral was to be at noon Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at Asbury United Methodist Church. Pride, 63, of Ooltewah, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at a Hamilton County hospital. A native of Wind Rock, Mr. Pride had lived in Hamilton County since 1973. He retired from Combustion Engineering Co. and was a member of the American Legion and the AARL. He was a veteran of the army. Mr. Pride is survived by his wife, Sandra Pride; his daughter, Melissa Forrester and husband, John, of Rocky Face, Ga.; his mother, Rachel Pride, of Oliver Springs; his granddaughter, Katie Forrester; five brothers and five sisters; and by several nieces and nephews. A graveside service was to be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at National Cemetery in Chattanooga with the Rev. Terry Taggart officiating.
