Born March 5, 1986, in Knoxville, he was a senior at Oliver Springs High School. Clayton attended the Fellowship of Christian Athletes meetings and the Bible Club meetings at school. His family said he was very popular with the student body and he was selected Mr. Valentine of 2003. As a freshman, Clayton traveled to Europe with teacher, Gary Patterson, and fellow students. He was an Oliver Springs Bobcats fan and attended high school sports activities. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Brenda Hayes; his maternal stepgrandfather, William J. Bryan Hayes; his paternal grandfather, J. Allen Smith; and by his paternal stepgrandfather, Charles Brown. Mr. Smith is survived by his mother, Donna Forstrom, and husband, Jon, of Oak Ridge; his father, James Allen Smith, and wife, Kimberly, of Oliver Springs; a half sister, Ashley Bray, of Oliver Springs; two stepbrothers, Lucas Forstrom and Jake Forstrom, both of Oak Ridge; his paternal grandmother, Betty Brown, of Crossville; and by his maternal great-grandmother, Hazel Cox, of Harriman. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with Richard Powlus officiating. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Neils Harness, 65, of Oliver Springs, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born Aug. 26, 1938, he was the son of John R. and Dellah Patterson Harness, both now deceased. Mr. Harness was a member of Laurel Grove Baptist Church. He was a framing carpenter, and his family said he loved fish and ginseng. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth Harness, Edwin Harness and David Harness, and by a sister, Jerrylen Mullins. Mr. Harness is survived by his wife of 10 years, Cleda Faye Phillips Harness; two sons, Lenny Neils Harness of Austin, Texas, and Jerry Harness of Griffed, Ind.; his daughter, Tina Schmid and husband, John, of Plano, Ill.; four brothers, John M. Harness and wife, Mae, Randy E. Harness and wife, Nancy, and McAuthor Harness and wife, Cindy Lou, all of Oliver Springs, and Clarence W. Harness and wife, Janie, of Briceville; five grandchildren; and by several nieces, nephews and extended family members. His family said he will be remembered by many friends. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, in the chapel of Hatmaker Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Daugherty officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at Mineral Springs Baptist Church cemetery in Oliver Springs. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Gerald "Jerry" Hutton, 59, a longtime resident of Oak Ridge, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, with his brothers and a sister-in-law with him. He was the son of Fred Charles Hutton and Mary Louise Burkhart Hutton, both now deceased. Mr. Hutton was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and he served for three years as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Philippines. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Fred Hutton and James Lewis Hutton. Mr. Hutton is survived by four brothers, John Thomas Hutton and wife, Catherine Asmah Hutton, of Oak Ridge, Anthony Charles Hutton and wife, Judy McNamer Hutton, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Robert Edward Hutton and wife, Patricia Chapin Hutton, of Knoxville, and Philip Hutton and wife, Diane Glass Hutton, of Louisville; and by a sister-in-law, Margaret Elaine Manning Hutton of Madisonville. He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews, Naomi Louise Ajiku Hutton Hickerson and husband, Shaun, and her son, Preston Alexander Hickerson, Rebekah Jane Odamea Hutton, Susanna Betty Anakwa Hutton, Carla Noel Hutton and husband, Dave Faris, Zachary Michael Hutton, Zoe Elaine Hutton, Robert Edward Hutton II, Jacob Eli Hutton, John William Hutton, James Louis Hutton and Charles Edward Hutton. His family said he will be deeply missed by all his family. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at Kingston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at Kyker Funeral Home on West Race Street in Kingston. Mary Lucille Henry, 83, of Knoxville, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at Farragut Health Care Center. Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Hortense Rawl, 89, of Oak Ridge, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
