GEORGE - age 62 of Kingston, NAYLES, J.B. - age 80 of Newcomb, Tenn., RENFRO, JANE HENLEY ========================================= DAVIS, MARY KESTERSON MINIX - on Thursday, November 20, 2003. Beloved wife the late George S. Davis. Mother of Susan Lee Minix of Covington and Lynn Minix Francis and husband Chuck of Chattanooga, TN. Grandmother of Jenna Lauren Meeks, Matthew Ryan Meeks, Dayton Lee Francis, Lane Ashley Francis and Carrie Elizabeth Francis. Sister of Katherine Colclasure of Memphis, TN. Aged 74 years; a native of Oakdale, TN and a resident of Covington, LA for the past 19 years. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services on Sunday, November 23, 2003 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, Inc., 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation on Sunday from 2:00 PM until service time. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of St. Tammany, 1202 S. Tyler St., Covington, LA 70433. ERWIN, W. GEORGE - age 62 of Kingston, passed away Thursday November 20, 2003 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Luminary United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, William L. and Eloise Erwin. Survivors include his wife, Julie; his children, Bill, Scott, and Tracy; his grandchildren, George, Drew, "Bubba", and Madeline; his brother, Sherwood Max; and his mother in law, Mary Lumpkin. He was born March 12, 1941 in Alexander City, Ala., but grew up in Oak Ridge. He was a graduate of Oak Ridge High School class of 1959 and the University of Tennessee, class of 1964. He served as an Army Infantry officer from 1964-1966. He retired to Tennessee in 1998 after 32 years in the plastic bottling industry. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday November 22, 2003 at Kyker Funeral Home in Kingston with funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. in the Kyker Chapel. Rev. Bill Duncan will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to either Gilda's Club Chicago, 537 North Wells, Chicago, IL. 60601 or the American Cancer Society, 871 Weisgarber Rd. Knoxville, Tenn. 37909. He was a Navy veteran of WW II. Survivors: wife, Regina (Jean) Nayles and daughter and son in law, Vickie and Eddie Archer, Newcomb; sisters, Doris Forester and Elizabeth (Sweetie) Douglas; brother, Willard Nayles and wife, Betty all of Dayton, Ohio; cousin, Jean Smiddy, Knoxville, Tenn. Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Sunday November 23, 2003 at the Llewellyn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Morgan officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday November 24, 2003 in the Douglas Cemetery with military honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard. Visitation 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Llewellyn Funeral Home Jellico in charge. RENFRO, JANE HENLEY - died November 20, 2003. The widow of Reuben Chase Renfro, Jane was born January 10, 1901, in Harriman, Tennessee, to Lucinda and Samuel S. Henley. She was; the great great granddaughter of Col. David Henley, an early settler in East Tennessee for whom Henley Street and the Henley Street Bridge are named. The sixth of ten children, she was educated in Roane County, and was valedictorian of her graduating class at Harriman High School. The Renfros were married in 1920 and moved to Knoxville in 1921 when he began his career at the Knoxville, Post Office. He was assistant postmaster at the time of his retirement. Survivors include her three sons and their wives; seven grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. The sons and their wives are Knoxville residents Robert and Georgia, and Grady and Emmalee; Norman and Peggy reside in St. Petersburg, Florida. Also surviving is a brother in law Kelso Renfro. Her life was invested in her family and her church. She enthusiastically supported her sons in their school and extracurricular activities and was an active member of the PTA. She has been a member of Central Baptist Church of Fountain City since 1926. She taught women's Sunday school classes for many years and held various leadership positions in the Women's Missionary Union. Funeral service will be Sunday evening November 23, 2003, at 7:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church Dr. David Crocker and Rev. Ron Mouser officiating. Family and friends will meet at Lynnhurst Cemetery at 10:45 am Monday for an 11:00 am interment service. For friends wishing to do so, gifts may be made to Central Baptist Church Memorial Fund, at 5364 North Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37918. Family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Central Baptist Church of Fountain City.
