    2. >From The Oak Ridger 14 Nov 2003 Leola Ahler Griffith, of Oak Ridge, Hortense Louvenia Gardner Rawl, 89, recently of Oak Ridge, Barbara T. Schill, 70, of Florida, formerly of Oak Ridge, ========================================= Leola Ahler Griffith, of Oak Ridge, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at her home. She was the daughter of Gustave and Queen Ahler, both now deceased. Mrs. Griffith was a member of Woodland Park Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Griffith. Mrs. Griffith is survived by a nephew, Bill Milsap and wife, Henrietta, of Chattanooga, and by several cousins. Her family said she will be remembered by many friends. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003, at Anderson Memorial Gardens on Oliver Springs Highway with the Rev. Herbert Lee officiating. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to Woodland Park Baptist Church, 200 Manhattan Ave., Oak Ridge, TN 37830. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at Weatherford Mortuary. Hortense Louvenia Gardner Rawl, 89, recently of Oak Ridge, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born July 28, 1914, in Sedley, Va., she was the daughter of Sylvester Lee Gardner and Emma Lee Gardner. According to her family, she was a devoted and faithful servant of the Lord. She was active in the Simonsdale Presbyterian Church in Portsmouth, Va., Chesterbrook Presbyterian Church in McLean, Va., and Idylwood Presbyterian Church in Falls Church, Va. Her family said her singing, decorating, fellowship and leadership contributions were all freely given to the glory of God and to the benefit of her family and community. Her family said she will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Mrs. Rawl was past president and judge of the Simonsdale Garden Club in Portsmouth and was active in the Parent Teacher Associations at her sons' schools from primary through high school. Mrs. Rawl is survived by her husband of 60 years, Edgar H. Rawl Jr. of McLean, Va.; two sons, Edgar H. Rawl III of Tucson, Ariz., and Richard R. Rawl and wife, Janet, of Oak Ridge; and by her grandsons, Randy, an 11th-grader at Oak Ridge High School, and Ryan, a ninth-grader at ORHS. A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Stephen Damos officiating. A graveside service will be Sunday, Nov. 23, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, Va. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of contributions to the American Lung Association, 212 S. Peters Rd., Suite 106, Knoxville, TN 37923. The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. Weatherford Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Barbara T. Schill, 70, of Florida, formerly of Oak Ridge, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003.
