HAMMONS, MARVIN - age 78 of Oak Ridge, ROACH, EARL - age 86 of Caryville, Tenn ============================================ BYRGE, B.L. - age 64, of Clinton, Tenn., passed away Friday, October 3, 2003 at Methodist Medical Center. Member of Gravehill Baptist Church. Owner and operator of B and A Lawn Services. Preceded in death by his mother, Ollie Reynolds Byrge; and a son, Homer Lee Byrge; and two sisters, Ellen Carroll, and Mary Crabtree. Survivors: wife, Arlene Byrge of Clinton; daughters, Tausha Byrge of Clinton, Amy and her husband, Bruce Phillips of Lake City, Angel and her husband, Arvil Weaver of LaFollette, Tenn.; sons, George and his wife, Lisa Byrge of Lake City, Timmy Ray and his wife, Vickie Byrge of Lake City, Jimmy Byrge of Lake City and Brian and his wife, Amanda Byrge of Lake City; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; father, Callaway Byrge of Lake City; sisters, Ruby and her husband, Dave McCartt of Akron, Ohio, Joyce and her husband, Sonny Cool of Akron, Ohio, Gladys Byrum of Clinton; brothers, Jimmy Byrge of Clinton, Early and his wife, Linda Byrge of Clinton, Arnold Byrge of Clinton, Ikey and his wife, Ivory Byrge of Lake City; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services 8 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2003, Holley-Gamble Chapel. Rev. Lonnie Lowe officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Byrge Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, Tenn. HAMMONS, MARVIN - age 78 of Oak Ridge, passed away Friday, October 3, 2003 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was a United States Navy veteran who served during World War II. He retired from U.A.W. Cadillac Corp. where he had worked as a painter and utility assistant for 27 years. He was born December 2, 1924 in Flat Lick, Ky. He was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by parents, James and Ora Smith Hammons and a brother, Morris Hammons. Survivors: wife, Mabel Joy Mullins Hammons of Oak Ridge; daughters, Rita Mae Holda of Feton, Mich., Mary Christine and her husband, Brian Childs of Franklin, Tenn.; son Carl Michael and his wife, Susan Hammons of Clinton, Tenn.; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Ardith and husband, Bob Hazelmaker of Dataw, SC, Mae Hammons of Long Island, NY, Zelma Borchere of Freehold, NJ; brother, Raymond and wife, Nancy Hammons of Sterling Heights, Mich.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services, 11 a.m. Monday October 6, 2003 at Highland View Church of Christ in Oak Ridge, Tenn. Minister, Curtis McClane officiating. Interment Grandview Memorial Gardens in Clinton. Arrangements by Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. ROACH, EARL - age 86 of Caryville, Tenn., passed away Friday, October 3, 2003 at St. Mary's Medical Center of Knoxville. He was a member and deacon of Shultz Hollow Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by 1st wife, Della Wilson Roach; parents, John & Nettie Roach; sister, Tressie Rhea and brothers Arlie & Harold Roach. Survivors: wife, Lerah Clotfelter Roach of Caryville, Tenn.; daughter, Joyce Taylor & husband, LeRoy of Caryville; son, Lonnie Roach & wife, Sue of Knoxville; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sister, Lena Kate Kidwell of Clinton; brother in law, Homer Clotfelter & wife, Willie Mae of LaFollette, Tenn.; special nephew & niece, Dennis & Betty Clotfelter of Caryville; special friend, B. Ray Phillips and wife, Julia Faye of Lake City, Tenn.; other nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 7, 2003 from 6-8 p.m. at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City with the funeral to follow at 8 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. B. Ray Phillips and Rev. Charlie Mack Marlow officiating. Interment will be Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Blowing Springs Church Cemetery in Clinton.
