(BOB) - age 72, of LaFollette, HILL, RAYMOND LEE, SR. - age 76, of Claxton METHENEY, CHARLES "CHUCK" - age 83, of Lake City, ============================================ ANDERSON, BESSIE LILLIAN - of Oak Ridge, died suddenly and peacefully from cardiac arrest about 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 30, 2003, at her home. She was a long- time member of First United Methodist Church and the Oak Ridge Women's Club. She was also an active member of the Covenant Health Fitness Program. In earlier years, she was active in Square Dance and Ballroom dancing clubs. While her children were in school, she participated in all their activities. She was very devoted to her family and home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Stella Perkins; and a brother, William Edgar Perkins. Mrs. Anderson is survived by her husband, Alex H. Anderson; daughters, Sharon Lynne Anderson and Susan Kay and Mark Senn; much beloved granddaughter, Samantha L. Senn, and a brother, Andrew Jack Perkins. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary with Rev. Robert Cantrell, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of contributions to the Youth Choir of the First United Methodist Church, PO Box 4669, Oak Ridge, TN 37831-4669. (BOB) - age 72, of LaFollette, passed away suddenly Monday, September 29, 2003, at St. Mary's of Campbell County. Preceded in death by parents, Arthur L. and Ethel Goins Chadwell. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church, LaFollette Masonic Lodge #623 F&AM, Kerbella Temple & Shriners, and the Lyk-Nu Gang. He was affiliated with the Lost Squadron in restoring the WW II P-38 "Glacier Girl". He served in the Army Air Corps. An avid woodworker and fisherman, he also loved to restore antique cars. Survivors: wife, Molverine Chadwell; sons, Claude Arthur (C.A.) Chadwell of Kissimmee, Fla., Michael Chadwell of LaFollette; daughter, Donna Dillman of Harrogate; grandchildren, Amanda Walden Lawson, Suzanne Walden Rouse and Jonathan Chadwell. Funeral service 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cross Chapel, Rev. Johnny Dabney officiating. Interment 11 a.m. Thursday, October 2, at Campbell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Cross Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Mike Freeman, Bill Seiber, J.C. Brown, Lynn Goins, Mack Lay, and David McCulley. HILL, RAYMOND LEE, SR. - age 76, of the Claxton community, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at St. Mary's Hospice in Halls. He was born May 23, 1927 in Rogersville, Tennessee. Mr. Hill was a United States Navy veteran who served during World War II. While in the military he served on the USS Randolph and later in the US Navy Reserves for four years, beginning in 1945-1956. He was a former employee of Martin Marietta where he had worked at X-10, K-25 & the Y-12 plant. He later went to work for Dupont in Florida from 1956-1959. He became a general contractor & retired as a brick mason. After retiring he became active with food ministries, nursing home ministries and helped with the building of churches & homes in his community. Preceded in death by parents, Oba & Birdie Russell Hill; sister, Sylvia Hill. Survivors: loving Wife of 60 years, Dorothy Orrick Hill of Clinton; daughters, Lynda Mitchell & husband, Sam of Knoxville, Phyllis Mosley of Georgia, Teresa Hill of Clinton, Tammy Scott & husband, David of Nashville; sons, Raymond Hill, Jr. of Rogersville, Jimmy Hill & wife, Joyce of Oak Ridge, Terry Hill & wife, Kathy of Georgia, Mike Hill & wife, Sharon of Claxton, Mark Hill & wife, Susan of Claxton; several grandchildren & great-grandchildren; a host of friends & neighbors. Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Friday at South Clinton Baptist Church with Rev. Franklin Massengill & Rev. Dallon Miller officiating. Interment will follow the service at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Clinton with sons & grandsons serving as pallbearers. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He was retired from Rock Creek Mining Company. He was preceded in death by wife, Helen Metheney; parents, Thomas and Rebecca Metheney; sister, Callie Metheney and two infant sisters; brothers, Homer, Eister, and Delbert Metheney.
