    2. >From The Oak Ridger 7 Oct 2002 Louise Cate Fowler, 88, of Clinton, Charles "June Bug" Douglas Jr., 54, Martinique Denise Pennyman Roberta F. Flodstrom, 66, of Oak Ridge, ============================================ Louise Cate Fowler, 88, of Clinton, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born Aug. 24, 1915, in Knoxville, she was the daughter of U.S. Cate and Ruby Bankston Cate. Raised in Knoxville, she graduated from Knoxville High School in 1933 and from the University of Tennessee in 1937. In 1939, she married her college sweetheart, George Robertson Fowler. She received a master's degree from the University of Michigan in 1963. After raising her family and teaching in the public schools in Tennessee, New York and Michigan, she retired to Anderson County in 1971. According to her family, Mrs. Fowler was accomplished in needlework and won many prizes for her quilts and embroidery. She also made vestments and banners for her church, First Presbyterian Church. Two of her brothers, Jeff B. Cate and Ray E. Cate, also died earlier. In addition to her husband of 64 years, Mrs. Fowler is survived by three daughters, Frances Fowler of Hamilton, Ohio, Marianne Fowler of Alexandria, Va., and Susan Fowler of Clinton; a brother, Kern Cate of Hiram, Maine; three sisters-in-law, Joyce Fowler of Knoxville, Carolyn Cate of Maine and Bertha Fowler of Clinton; and by several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003, at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Alex Stuart officiating. A graveside service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville. The family requests any flowers be sent to the church Thursday morning. The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the church. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of arrangements. Charles "June Bug" Douglas Jr., 54, of Knoxville, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at his home. Mr. Douglas was a member of the Believers Voice of Deliverance Church in Harriman and was one of the original members of the 5 Star Jubilee and The Douglas Family Singers. He was a construction worker and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillie Mae Douglas. Mr. Douglas is survived by his wife, Sarah Douglas; three daughters, Sophia Chappell and husband, Lawrence, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Wanda Douglas Wright and Amy Douglas, both of Oak Ridge; six grandchildren, Taylor, L.J., Alonzo, Itaiyah, Candi and Codye; stepchildren and stepgrandchildren, Bernard and family and Carissa and family, all of Oak Ridge, and Rayshelle and family of Knoxville; and by his father, Charles Douglas Sr. of Harriman. He is also survived by his father- and mother-in-law, George and Emma Sutton of Oak Ridge; eight sisters, Margie Moore and husband, Lionel, Glenda Copeland and husband, Donald, Sheila Smith and husband, Bo, and Christine Pankey, all of Harriman, Willie Springs and husband, James, of Rockwood, Ivory Dowdell and husband, Scottie, of Oak Ridge, Lisa Burum of Atlanta, Ga., and Teresa Thompson of Knoxville; four brothers, Michael Douglas of Philadelphia, Tenn., Alvin Douglas and wife, Alice, of Rockwood, Christopher Douglas of Harriman and Gilbert Frazier of Knoxville; three aunts, Pearline Young and Hurlene Horton, both of Huntsville, Ala., and Minnie Bertram of Harriman; an uncle, David Bertram and wife, Melinda, of Harriman; two great-aunts, Barbara Johnson of Oak Ridge and Faye Johnson of Harriman; and by several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Paul Batey, Michael Gallaher and Sonny are considered special friends. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003, in the chapel of Evans Mortuary in Rockwood with the Rev. James B. Springs officiating. A graveside service will follow at Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Martinique Denise Pennyman died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was the infant daughter of Mario D. and Nicole R. Smith Pennyman of Oak Ridge. A private graveside service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Roberta F. Flodstrom, 66, of Oak Ridge, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
