(Chuck) Wells, 62, LaFollette, ========================================================= Leroy Berry, 65, LaFollette, died Friday, October 10, 2003 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Campbell County.He was a member of Speedwell Academy Baptist Church. Leroy loved fishing, hunting, football, bowling, drag racing, having received several trophies.He is preceded in death by his sons, Brandon Murphy, Timothy Berry; parents, Cecil and Georgia Stiner Berry; brother, John Berry.Leroy is survived by his wife, Sherrie Berry, LaFollette; children and spouses, Carol and John Fortney, Canton, OH, Brenda and Terry Heatherly, Jacksboro, Leroy Jr. and Connie Berry, LaFollette, Lisa and Alvy Thomas, Canton, OH., Dawn and Kevin Sharp, Jacksboro, Tim Berry and Leanne Berry, both of LaFollette; grandchildren, Sarah and Travis Umstead, Connor Heatherly, Tim Berry, Tara Farcus, Chris McDaniel and Alvy Thomas III; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Host and Gavin Morris; sisters, Edna Bull, Murriel Turner, Faye Bean, and Lucille Childs; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services were Sunday, October 12 at Speedwell Academy Baptist Church with Reverends Dwane Byrd and David Goins officiating. Bowman, 91, Monroe, MI, died Wednesday, October ?, 2003 at Mercy Memorial Hospital. Born May 26, 1912, in Speedwll, Tenn, he was the son of Elisha and Sarah J. (Hall) Bowman. His stepmothers were Eva and Viola bowman. He married Lois L McCarty August 9, 1946, in Bowling Green, OH. He worked for Union Camp Corp. (formerly River Raisin Paper Co.) for more than 37 years, retiring June 1, 1977; he served with Civilian Conservation Corp. before service in the Army Air Corps. October, 1940, until July, 1945. He was a member of 12th Army Air Corps and flew 62 combat mission. He was a top turret gunner of B-25 and served with the 324th Bombardment Group. He earned the Purple Heart, Silver Star, Certificate of Valor; Distinguished Flying Cross; Air Medal with six oak leaf clusters; European-African-Middle Eastern Medal with five bronze stars, and American Campaign Medal.He was a member of the 57th Bomb Wing Association for World War II.Wilmer was preceded in death by four brothers, Elisha Paris, Clem, Eugene and Hall; five sisters; an infant; Edith Lee, Gladys, Mary Elizabeth and Elise.Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Alice Faye Beckham, Temperance, Judy A. Amerman, Monroe; brother, Elisha Jr. (Georgette), Woodbury; eight sisters, Esther Lee (Louis) Hopkins, Helen (Taylor) Goins and Dorothy Vallade, all of Monroe, Carrie (Jesse) Bailey, Jonesville, Myrtle (Buddy) Bean and Starly (Craig) Sherwood, both of Lavergne, Della Evans, Speedwell, and Barbara Shoemaker, Sierra Vista, Ariz.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. The received friends Friday at Rupp Funeral Home.Funeral services were Saturday, with Rev. Delbert Luther Clotfelter, 79, Jacksboro, died Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Campbell County. He was a World War II veteran with over 30 years service in the Department of Defense, Navy, Air Force, Merchant Marine and Coast Guard. He was a member of Jacksboro Masonic Lodge #322 F&AM 32. Mr. Clotfelter was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
