Koh, 71, of Oak Ridge, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, at her home after a long illness. Mrs. Koh was born and raised in Korea. She came to the United States in 1967 to join her husband, Chong Kun Koh, a biochemist at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory's biology division. She operated Pan East, Oak Ridge's first Oriental Food Store, located in Grove Center, in the 1970s and later the Chinese restaurant, China Doll, located in the downtown shopping center, until her retirement. Her family said after retirement her favorite activities were gardening and reading. In addition to her husband of 43 years, Mrs. Koh is survived by two sons, Alex Koh and wife, Barbara, of New York, N.Y., and Michael Koh and wife, Mihoko, of Irving, Calif.; her daughter, Connie Koh and husband, Glen Trafford, of Canberra, Australia; five grandchildren, Stephen, Sophia, Nina, Zachary and Samantha; and by five siblings in Korea. The funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, at Weatherford Mortuary with Dr. Young-Bae Kim officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from noon to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Weatherford Mortuary. Thomas Earl Ruffner, 68, of Oliver Springs, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born Dec. 19, 1934, in Morgan County, he was the son of Mildred Emma Brown of Oliver Springs and Earl Ruffner, who is now deceased. Mr. Ruffner was a self-employed auto mechanic. He owned and operated Trans-tech Volvo Repair Shop in Oak Ridge for many years. His grandparents, Dave and Bertha Ruffner and Charlie and Bessie Hampton, also died earlier. In addition to his mother, Mr. Ruffner is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ida Vann Ruffner; two sons, Randy Ruffner and wife, Melisa, of Oliver Springs, and Ricky Ruffner and wife, Janice, of Lake City; a daughter, Missy McBee and husband, Greg, of Oliver Springs; and by five grandchildren, Matthew Ruffner and Cory McBee, both of Oliver Springs, and Shannon Ruffner, Brittney Ruffner and Kelsey Ruffner, all of Lake City. He is also survived by two stepgrandchildren, Josh McBee and Katrena McBee, both of Oliver Springs; a brother, Randall Dean Ruffner and wife, Nancy, of Nashville; and by a sister, Sharon Marrow and husband, Dwight, of the Marlow community. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Ralph Wilson and the Rev. Garvan Walls officiating. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at Davis Cemetery in Coalfield. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Sharon Faye Smith, 45, of Oliver Springs, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2003, at her home. Ms. Smith was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Evan Guy; her mother, Otella Harvey; and by a brother, Billy Evan Guy Jr. Ms. Smith is survived by a brother, Ray Harvey and wife, Sylvia, of Wartburg; three sisters, Pamela Farr and husband, Jimmy, of Coalfield, Mary Greer of Oliver Springs, and Lori Mullins and husband, Hank, of the Marlow community; her stepfather, Raymond Harvey of Oliver Springs; her former husband, Leroy Smith of Sunbright; and by several nieces and nephews. Anna Jo Swaney of Lenoir City was considered a second mom to Ms. Smith. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, at Mineral Springs Baptist Church cemetery in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Don Daugherty officiating. Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs is in charge of arrangements. Michael George Tuck, 49, of Oliver Springs, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2003, at the home of his brother, Mickey Tuck, in Oliver Springs. Born March 30, 1954, in Oliver Springs, he was the son of Mose Tuck and Minnie Brown Tuck, both now deceased. Mr. Tuck was a lifelong resident of the area. He was the owner and operator of Pappy's Game Room in Oliver Springs. He was a member of Beech Park Baptist Church. His sister, Gearldine Tuck Phillips, also died earlier. In addition to his brother and wife, Mary, Mr. Tuck is survived by a brother, Mose Tuck Jr. of Oliver Springs; two sisters, Zona Hall and Sheila Childress and husband, Johnny, all of Oliver Springs; and by several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Richard Bunch of Wartburg is considered a special friend. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, at Oliver Springs Cemetery with Kenny Evans officiating.
