>From The Oak Ridger 2 Oct 2003 Lil Neal, 72, of Oak Ridge, Raymond Lee Hill Sr., 76, of the Claxton Bessie Lillian Anderson, of Oak Ridge, William Lawson "Bill" Russell, 92, of Oak Ridge, ============================================ Lil Neal, 72, of Oak Ridge, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born June 25, 1931, in Morgan County, she was the daughter of Lewis Lively and Anna West Lively. Mrs. Neal was a lifelong resident of the area. She and her husband, Ardell Neal, now deceased, founded, owned and operated Neal's Jewelry of Oliver Springs. The business is now over 50 years old and continues to be operated by family members. Mrs. Neal was a member of Tuppertown Baptist Church in Oliver Springs. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Lively and the Rev. Hildon Lively; and by a sister, Minnie Seiber. Mrs. Neal is survived by a son, Marsie Neal of Oak Ridge; three daughters, Juanita Patrick and husband, Mike, and Teresa Pride and husband, Mike, all of Oliver Springs, and Wilda Cross; seven grandchildren, Gary Ashley and wife, Theresa, Larry Ashley and wife, Edwina, Verlon Cross II, Brad Neal and wife, Chanda, Jonathan Neal and wife, Christina, Anita Wright and Erica Walker; and by 10 great-grandchildren, Chelsea Ashley, Riley Ashley, Shane Ashley, Brandy Neal, Ivy Neal, Tesa Neal, Jonathan Neal, Ronni Wright, Toni Wright and Alaysia Walker. She is also survived by three sisters, Linda Carter of Oak Ridge, Mary Langley and husband, J.B., of Oliver Springs, and Lela Johnson of Illinois; two brothers, Benny Lively of Coalfield and Robert Lively and wife, Armetha, of Coalfield; and by several nieces and nephews. Myra Halburnt, Marty Ellis, Debbie Bunch, Skip Starnes, John Davis and Sharon Patterson are considered special friends. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Don Daugherty, the Rev. Ralph Wilson and the Rev. Mike Pride officiating. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Adcock Cemetery in Coalfield. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Raymond Lee Hill Sr., 76, of the Claxton community, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at St. Mary's Hospice in Halls. Born May 23, 1927, in Rogersville, he was the son of Oba and Birdie Russell Hill. Mr. Hill was a U.S. Navy veteran, who served during World War II. While in the military he served on the USS Randolph and later in the U.S. Navy Reserves for four years, beginning in 1945-1956. He was a former employee of Martin Marietta Energy Systems, where he had worked at X-10, the Oak Ridge K-25 site and the Y-12 Plant. He later went to work for Dupont in Florida from 1956-1959. He became a general contractor and retired as a brick mason. After retiring he became active with food ministries, nursing home ministries and helped with the building of churches and homes in his community. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Hill. Mr. Hill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Orrick Hill of Clinton; four daughters, Lynda Mitchell and husband, Sam, of Knoxville, Phyllis Mosley of Georgia, Teresa Hill of Clinton, and Tammy Scott and husband, David, of Nashville; five sons, Raymond Hill Jr. of Rogersville, Jimmy Hill and wife, Joyce, of Oak Ridge, Terry Hill and wife, Kathy, of Georgia, and Mike Hill and wife, Sharon, and Mark Hill and wife, Susan, all of Claxton; and by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His family said he will be remembered my many friends and neighbors. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at South Clinton Baptist Church with the Rev. Franklin Massengill and the Rev. Dallon Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Clinton. His sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Full military rites will be conducted at the graveside by the Campbell County Veterans Honor Guard. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of contributions to Sun Trust Bank in Clinton in memory of Raymond Hill. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Bessie Lillian Anderson, of Oak Ridge, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at her home, of cardiac arrest. She was the daughter of Andrew and Stella Perkins. Mrs. Anderson was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church and the Oak Ridge Women's Club. She was also a member of the Covenant Health Fitness Program. In earlier years, she was involved in square dance and ballroom dancing clubs. While her children were in school, her family said she participated in all their activities. According to her family, Mrs. Anderson was very devoted to her family and home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Edgar Perkins. Mrs. Anderson is survived by her husband, Alex H. Anderson; two daughters, Sharon Lynne Anderson, and Susan Kay Senn and husband, Mark; a granddaughter, Samantha L. Senn; and by a brother, Andrew Jack Perkins. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Robert Cantrell Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of contributions to the Youth Choir of the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 4669, Oak Ridge, TN 37831-4669. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. William Lawson "Bill" Russell, 92, of Oak Ridge, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at his home.
