    3. Robert E. Bennett (Bobby Farmer), 75, of Trenton, MI., formerly of Eagan, died Monday, April 14, 2003. He was born July 11, 1927. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two daughters, Susan and Karen Bennett. Survivors are wife, Charlene Douglas Bennett; one daughter, Sandra Green; two sons; Dennis Bennett, and Robert D. Bennett, all of MI; two brothers, Freelin H. Farmer and Lonnie Ray Farmer of MI; two sisters, Ruth Smith of LaFollette, and Doris Jean Austin of Lincoln Park, MI.; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.Graveside services were Saturday at 3 p.m. at Douglas Cemetery in Saxton, KY. Family received friends from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Croley Funeral Home in Williamsburg, KY. Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette was in charge of arrangements. Frank Thomas Brantley, 73, of 600 NW. Minnesota St., Knoxville, died Saturday morning April 19, 2003 at the Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center, Knoxville. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a retired Truck Driver. His survivors are a wife, Willie Jean Brantley, Knoxville; son, David Brantley, Norris; daughters, Donna Meredith, Debbie Varner and Dena Long, all of Knoxville; brother, Robert Brantley, LaFollette; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial Services were Monday, April 21, 2003, 11 a.m. at Martin Wilson Chapel wit Rev. Hobert McCreary officiating. Mary Louise Capelli, 97, Springfield, Ohio, formerly of Jellico, died Sunday, April 20, 2003, in Springfield.. She was born October 3, 1905 at Italian Mine, Tenn. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Chartarina Garzoni Vicini. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Joseph Capelli and a brother. She was survived by sons, Peter Joseph Capelli, Lebanon, Va, John Louis Capelli, Louisville, Ky, Donald and Judy Capelli, Springfield, Ohio; daughter, Evelyn Ann Vickers, Lexington, Ky; numerous grandchildren; one brother and two sisters. Funeral services were Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at the St. Boniface Catholic Church with Father Tom Imfeld officiating. Interment was in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery. Cox & Son Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Patricia Thaile (Ward) Goben, 61, Heiskell, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003. Thaile (Pat) was born to James J. and Maude A. Ward on September 12, 1942 in Bryson City, NC. She grew up in the Edgemoor community in Anderson County. She graduated from Clinton High School in Clinton in 1960. She loved her Lord, her family and music. In spite of paralysis from childhood Polio. She was an accomplished pianist. She had been the pianist at a number of churches in TN and GA over the years. She started playing for Edgemoor Baptist and recently played for First Baptist Church of LaFollette where she was a member until she was no long able to do so. She was preceded in death by her father, James J. Ward and two sons; Christian Paul Goben and James Griffen Goben. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Herbert Goben and son Josh, both of Heiskell; her mother, Maude Ward; brother, Scott Ward, both of the Edgemoor Community in Clinton Henry Curtis Lowe, 86, Jacksboro, died Saturday, April 19, 2003 at Sunbridge Nursing Home.He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and of the Baptist faith. His survivors are a wife, Jewell Lowe, Jacksboro; stepdaughter, Sherri Giaquinto, Cape Coral, FL; brother-in-laws, Ron and Clarence Reynolds; half sisters, Pauline Gray, Corbin, KY, Irene Perkins, Piqua, OH, Judy Lawson, Knoxville, andMary Lou Payne, Jacksboro; half brother, Clarence Lowe, Jacksboro; several nieces and nephews. Graveside Services were Monday, April 21, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. at the Harness Cemetery, Caryville with the Campbell County Honor Guard. Rev. Don Allen officiated the ceremony. Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Billy McCulley,53, Flat Hollow Community, Speedwell, died Sunday April 20, 2003 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Cora Ellen Henegar McCulley; brothers, Raymond McCulley, Richard McCulley, and an infant brother. His survivors are a daughter, Janice Lyke, Greenville, PA; sister, Mary O.McCulley; brothers, Elmer and Paul McCulley all of LaFollette, Kenneth and Truman McCulley both of Speedwell. Several other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at the Walters Chapel with Reverends Edward Smiddy and Ronnie Poston officiating. Interment was Wednesday. James Lee Sharp, 84, of Denison, TX, formerly of LaFollette and Little Rock AK, died Monday, April 21, 2003 at St.Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County.He was born May 23, 1918 in LaFollette. He graduated from LaFollette High School, served in the U.S, Army in North Africa in the 9th Division from 1941-1944. He received the Purple Heart from an injury incurred in Tunisia, North Africa. He attended the Southern College of Watch making and Jewelry Repair. He owned Sharp Jewelry in Little Rock, AK for 26 years and retired in 1983. He had lived in Denison, TX since 1999. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, DAV, Order of the Purple Heart, and a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge in Little Rock. He was a life member of the Rosedale Optimist Club in Little Rock, AK and an active member of Calvary Church of the Nazarene in Denison, TX. He will be greatly missed by many family members and friends as he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather (Papa.) He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie O and Della Myers Sharp; brothers, Henry and Casper Sharp; sisters, Emma and Louise Sharp, Edna Rule Cherry and Elizabeth Gray. His survivors are a wife of nearly 62 years, Aileen Reynolds Sharp, Denison TX; daughter, Jimmie Lee Mobley; son-in-law, Dr. Gary Mobley, Denison TX; son, David Charles Sharp, and wife, Paula, Boise, ID; three great-grandchildren, Erin Elizabeth Mobley, Damon Sharp, and Tate Lee Mobley; brother, Pat Kerr Sharp, and wife, Hilda, LaFollette; sister, Helen Long, Atlanta, GA. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services were Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at Walters Chapel with Dr. Rick Long officiating.Interment followed. Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. HERTA WALDEN, 75, of New Carlisle, OH. died April 16, 2003. She was of the Lutheran Faith.She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie V. Walden Sr. Mrs. Walden is survived by her son, Lonnie V. Walden Jr., and wife Sharon; two grandchildren, Nathan and Sabrina Walden, all of West Carrollton, OH.; her brother, Herbert Ultsch of Bayern, Germany; niece, Gitta Sandifer of Sugarland, TX., and several relatives and friends. Graveside and interment services were Saturday, April, 19, 10 a.m. at the Walden Cemetery with Rev. Harry James officiating. Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Phillip John Welch, 69, Concord, NC. died Tuesday, April 15, at the North East Medical Center. Mr. Welch was an avid pilot and a member of the 75th Air Depot Wing Association. He was a Mason and a member of Derita Lodge #715. He was Chairman of the photography committee for the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas. He was formerly employed in the trucking industry prior to the Postal Service. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be deeply missed. He was a member of Rocky Ridge United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the Korean War, U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by parents Seth Edgar and Tina Bowman Welch. Survivors are wife, Peggy; daughter, Angela (Bill) Hagler both of Concord,NC; five sisters, Helen Welch, Greensboro, NC, Della Huddleston, Athens; Wynn Hooks, Trenton MI.; Ruth Young, Virginia Parrott, both of Redwood Valley CA.; two brothers, J.S. Welch, Atlantic Beach FL.; Dan Welch, Knoxville; one grandson, Steven P. Cline, Concord NC; two granddaughters, Stephanie W. Cline, Gray C. Hagler both of Wilmington NC, and one great granddaughter, Haley C. Cline, Concord NC. Services were April 17 at 11 a.m. at the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel in Concord with Rev. Charles Guy and Bill Sartin officiating. Place of Burial was at Rocky Ridge UMC Cemetery, Concord. Memorials may be sent to Shriners Hospital for Children, 377 Carowinds Blvd. Suite 105, Fr. Mills, and S.C. 29708. The Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas Lucinda Hicks Vermillion Wright, 83, of 103 Donna Lane, Jacksboro, died Sunday, April 20, 2003 at the St. Mary's of Campbell County.Mrs. Wright was an active and faithful member of Cumberland View Baptist Church. She enjoyed flower gardening, bird watching, crocheting and was an avid reader. She was a member of the Cumberland Mt. Order of the Eastern Star chapter#137, past Worthy Matron, also a member f Daughters of America Hope council #95 and a past member of the Jacksboro Home Demonstration Club. She was very loving and devoted to her family and friends, and her memory will forever be cherished.She was preceded in death by her husbands, Kyle Vermillion and Noah Wright; parents, David and Nancy Jane Scott Hicks; brothers, Jess, Oscar, George and Jerry Hicks; sisters, Elizabeth Hicks and Virgie Klein.She is survived by brothers, James and David Hicks, Dayton OH; John Hicks, Fonatana, NC; and Ken Hicks, LaFollette; sister, Julia Randall, Dayton, OH; and Helen Brown, Knoxville. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. An Eastern Star service and funeral was held April 21, 2003 with Rev. Bobby Ray officiating. Interment was Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Hicks Cemetery. Family received friends from 6 to 7:50 p.m. Monday at Martin Wilson Funeral Home of LaFollette. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
