DUNCAN, LOCHA MARIE RAY - age 80, of Claxton, RIGSBY, MARTHA ELIZABETH DENNEY - age 88, of Oak Ridge SMITH, MARGUERITE PIERCE -age 82, of Clinton, ===================================== COX, LESTER (BIGGIN) - age 64, of Clinton, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at his home. He was born October 4, 1938, in Anderson County, Tennessee, to the late Avie and Flossie Cox. Biggin retired from Ball Company and Anderson County Highway Department. He was a member of Jarnigan Chapel Baptist Church in Clinton, Tenn. He had a very special love for his family and was devoted and supportive in anything his family would do. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Howard and Hershel Cox. Survivors: wife, Loretta Cox of Clinton; sons, James Cox of Clinton and Steve Cox of Clinton; six special grandchildren and one special great-grandchild; brothers, Kenneth Cox of Clinton, Chester (Red) Cox of Clinton, Sherwood Cox of Clinton; mother-in-law, Margie West of Clinton, several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at the Hatmaker Funeral home. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2003, in the Jarnigan Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Cagley officiating. Biggin will lie in state one hour prior to funeral service. DUNCAN, LOCHA MARIE RAY - age 80, of Claxton, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2003 at the Windwood Health Care Center in Clinton. She was a loving mother, grandmother & great-grandmother. She was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church in Knoxville. She was also a member of the Prime-Timers Senior Citizens there. She loved quilting and had many different quilts she shared with her family throughout the years. She was born November 26, 1922 in Anderson County to the union of James and Minnie Martin Ray who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by husband, James Bert Duncan; son, Steven Ray Duncan; sisters, Edith Rice & Grace Valentine; brother, Elmer & Mose Ray & several half-brothers & half- sisters. She was a loving & devoted homemaker for her seven children. Mrs. Rigsby was a member of the New York Avenue Church of Christ and was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and loved working in her church. She was born December 17, 1914 in Smith County, TN. Preceded in death by parents, Lee Anderson Denney and Daisy Leona Polston Denney; husband, James Casper Rigsby; son, Terry Wayne Rigsby; brother, Dorris Denney; sister, Gladys Millmore. Survived by son, James Anderson Rigsby; daughter- in-law, Peggy Rigsby; grandsons, Charlie, Hank, and Luke Rigsby; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with Minister James Lampley officiating. Interment will be 11:00 a.m. CST, Thursday, April 10, 2003 at Wilson County Memorial Gardens in Lebanon, TN. The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. SMITH, MARGUERITE PIERCE -age 82, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at the Windwood Healthcare Center in Clinton. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church. She had worked as a Nursing Director at West Mall & Windwood Health Care Center, formerly known as Anderson County Health Care Center. She received her nursing degree from U.T. School of Nursing in Memphis, Tennessee. She was a member of Xi-Alpha Mu Sorority for 25 years. Preceded in death by husband, John Smith; grandson, Thomas John "T.J." Smith; parents, Harry & Hazel Pierce; sister, Katherine Pierce Cornwell. She was born March 4, 1921 in Clinton.
